I agreed 2 do overtime about 3/4 weeks ago and I couldnt do it coz I was really ill. Now i have a formal warning and I have to have a meeting with my general manager about my absence coz this would be my 4th absence due to illness in a year. Can they do this as it was overtime and not my contracted day?

I've moved to an apartment for a 1 1/2 month. The noise levels in this apartment are so loud that I've complained with the landlord many times already. The noise comes mostly from the unit upstairs, when the neighbors walk, talk, and I can even hear their most intimate moments.
Now, another unit beside mine is going to be vacant mid-December and as I still have one year in the contract to go, I talked to the landlord about my intention to move to that unit in order to try to escape from the noise upstairs. The landlord asked me to write her a letter saying that I want to move there. Now I got a little suspicious. Asking for a letter like this is the normal procedure or do you think she knows that the other apartment has several other problems and she's trying to avoid a lawsuit in the future?
Please advise.
Thanks

He did and she paid him, now the the company that the man bought the shingles and stuff from has put a lein on his house because he did not pay his bill at the lumber yard. She has contated him and he said he pays for it at the end of the year. Is this legal??

this is happening in california. doctors are sending out letters to patients stating that they must now pay "up front" for all services and then be reimbursed by the insurance company.

I am in Northern California and will change jobs in a few days. I have already gave my current employer 2 weeks notice, and I want to know will I get paid for my accrued PTO (paid time off) on my last day? Or will it be included in my last pay check? Are they going to pay all of the PTO hours, or they can pay me only a fraction of it? Or do I need to request it?

What sort of options are there for something that can be done from the USA? Is there anything like a Chinese bond fund traded on any of the US exchanges?

My friend thinks it is almost guaranteed to do better than the dollar in the next few years.

When I asked my employer if she was I was getting paid as if I were single with out dependents she said well do you have someone who does your taxes? I did not understand why she asked and said yes. Then she said thats where I claim my dependents. I do not think she understands that the more dependents the less money I will get withheld. I am in a small dental office that is new and just opening. The doctor pays with her own checks but on a sheet of paper marks the percentage of all my deductions. It is her first time being an employer, her first time opening and running her own business.

My question is how I explain to her that I want to get paid as if I had two dependents. I have two children. I get so much taxes taken off I need to either get another job or replace that one.

Tesco, Asda, M & S, Next, etc all trying to expand into other market areas such as clothing and furniture. Due to their chain store effects, smaller retailers seem to be driving out of business. Is this the end of retailling in the UK? All is left are Large corporate firms competiting against one another. Are the smaller retailers out of the equation?

So I got this new job and I screw up alot. I'm kind of frumpy eventhough I try not 2 b. I sometimes forget to do little things that are important.
I work 9 hrs eventhough I only get paid to work for 8 hrs. My mom got mad at me because she doesn’t think that I should work 9 hrs when the job agency that got me the job only pays me for 8 hrs. The reason I work an extra hour (4 which I know I will not get paid) is because I know I screw up a lot and I rly don’t want to get fired,so I try to give my collegues/supervisor some extra help (by staying an hour more to help them)

So am I doing right or wrong?
