It depends on the bank. Some do and some don;t. Check to see if there is a Coinstar machine in a local market. You can dump all your change in it a get bills in exchange.

Must banks WILL accept unrolled coins, but MANY will charge you a 'counting fee' if you have a significant amount of loose coin. ALL banks will CLAIM to recount rolled coins before they give them to other customers. In my experience, that is not always true.

Most banks want them rolled. Occasionally you'll run across a teller that is a coin collector and he or she will take the coins unrolled mainly to see if there is any good collectible coins.

YES THEY DO. I know that Commerce Bank have a coin counting machine. Or just go to Bank of America. My mom took in a bag worth about one hundred dollars in change ( it was all rolled up) and she got cash back.

Even in Canada we have to roll our pennies, nickels and dimes, if we want to deposit the money from our sons piggy bank. It's a huge pain in the as*.

But banks will no longer take bags of coin or piggy banks of coins and count them. You are expected to do their job for them now.
