My b/f owns the house & vehicles with me, but it was my credit card that they got a judgment on. We're both on SSDI and I know they can't take our checks, but once the money hits the bank, I know they can take my account. I'm wondering if it's safe to put my money in his account. Anyone with any experience in this matter? I appreciate your comments.

I moved out of a house early, in which my roommate's name was the only name on the lease (the landlord had told us only one of us needed to sign). I moved out with the intention to find some to move in for December.

Before I moved into the house, in September, the windows in my 3rd floor room needed severe repairing. They are rotted away (two of them), painted with lead (there is a lead disclaimer in the lease), and the panes are loose. In one pane, there is a crack about three inches wide. I told the landlord that they would need to be repaired for when I moved in (I told her this early-Sept).

When I moved in (mid-Sept), they were not repaired.
I asked again when the weather was very cold (Oct). Nothing.
I moved out in mid Nov, paying full rent for the month, giving her 2 weeks to fix them before another girl moved in. Nothing.
Dec 1st was the move in date. She said she would fix them the weekend of. Guess what?

Now the girl won't move in.

Am I really stuck paying rent for Dec???

i am planning on buying something off eBay and of course i see a lot of those items that claim to be selling a $400 item for $3.00. i was thinking that i could try one of those cheap ones from a seller with really good feedback, just to see what happened. if its a scam, i only lose a couple bucks and if it works (which i doubt) then great. im just kinda bored and am thinking, why not? is this a good idea even if its just a couple bucks? and also are there ever any of those "deals" that are legit?

eh...i'm in high school and i recently got my first job in an accountant's office. but the problem is, after three weeks of working there, i realized that i dont like it at all...i dread going to work everyday and i make so many mistakes that i think it would be better if i just quit. i only applied for the job because i needed the money, but what i REALLY want to do is work in retail! i realize that an office job is not for me. i want to work with customers and help people rather than sit at a desk all day filing papers.

my parents were so proud when i got the job, but i already told them i've been thinking about quitting. they told me to wait a little longer, but each time i go to work, i wish i had the courage to tell them i quit because the job is boring...

what should i do?? should i quit after 3 weeks because i dont like the job? need help from serious answerers who have had similar experiences!!

I am currently sitting next to the large window in my apartment. I can feel the cold air seeping from the outside. As I am in the market to buy a house in the next few years, how can I check to see how efficient the windows are when I am looking? We will most likely purchase in the summer and don't really want to be surprised come winter.

I bought a house last year and have put over 12,000 in repairs into it all ready. Is any of this tax deductible? I know the interest in my mortgage is, but I keep hearing mixed advice on whether the repairs are deductible.
I've saved every receipt for repairs, roof, front door, new fence, etc.
Any CPA's that can advise? or Tax professionals?

I'm in FL and I have been a victim of identity theft. I was served a summons to answer or appear in court in 20 days. I did answer the lawyers office and mailed all the documents that I have proving that what they are trying to sue me for is not my debt. I have a fraud alert on my bank account and with all three credit bureaus. I also got another letter in the mail stating that they will accept half of what I allegedy owe them as a compromise. The debt isn't mine and I'm not paying it. I just don't want my salary garnished, I live paycheck to paycheck as it is.
I thought your salary could only be garnished for alimony, child support or IRS taxes.
