for the 330 day exemption rule, what happens if you only stay out of country 300 days. Does the IRS communicate with Customs?

We are looking at a house, they are asking 197,000. They wanted 230,000 for it originally because an out of town relative told them it was worth it (NOT anywhere near market value in our area lol)

The house is still a bit overpriced. We really like it but honestly, in our area and at this time of year, 165,000 would be a fair price.

The owner has moved to a new place, the home is empty, and I was wondering what we should do. Wait until they inevitably lower the price after Xmas, or make a considerably lower offer soon?

So I'm looking at prospective colleges (i'm a junior) And for Financial Aid the schools asks for you to turn in your family's tax returns and your own if you work. In this case, the more poor I seem the better!!!

I live in a household with a family of 4. My mother doesn't work ($0 gross income) and my father has a job and according to the tax returns he has $93,000 gross income. We only pay like 6,000 in taxes.. maybe less. Do you think that I could get a large amount of financial aid?

In my job I earn $10,000 gross income. And only pay like $900 in taxes, i'm not sure, our family accountant does it for us.

at all. Is this true? My feeling is that they are going to want to negotiate and whatever we say, they are going to say higher, so we should offer lower than what we want to pay. I would love any realtor's opinions.

Thanks!

I don't care about getting a refund, I just don't want to owe.

I am in a somewhat unique position.
I am 36 years old, and I have 1.2m in my IRA.
I know that this is a problem that alot of people would like to have, but it presents me with an interesting delimma.

Because it is a substantial percentage of my net worth, I would like to find out if there are any ways to get to the money with less penalty (get the most out possible). I would like to make my life "simpler" by paying off my mortgage (I'm getting ready to start a family).

I am fundraising for my local preschool to get em some IT equipment and anything else they may need and I have just seen someone (for their own purposes not fundraising) asking people to donate anything from 1p to £1 via paypal. If you can spare a penny you can help make a difference to these little kiddies education. (I am holding an auction night to) this isnt the only way Im trying but I thought why not give it a go if someone is trying it for their selfish reasons.
The school is haylands preschool on portland in dorset, and their website is www.haylandspreschool.co.uk and their charity number is 106030/0. Please spare a penny or maybe more if you have it!!!
thank you if you do
If you wish to donate contact me for paypal address of where to send donations
thanks again
