We own a Landscape Construction Company. Doing fences, sprinkler systems, retaining walls etc. We just located to a different town. It's now Winter and things have really slowed down. Not a lot of advertising dollars left for paper ads right now. I need some really creative ideas to generate some Holiday income. Any ideas welcome!

OK I SWEAR I am being serious because some people do this.........

Hire someone to run around people's front lawns and get them annoed, making them need a fence! The person needs to leave footprints, play ball, etc.

Sorry if this didn't help much but some people do it....and sometimes it works!

Create a hot item. It doesn't need to be totally original; it can be something that you put a twist on and make up a fancy name, and use guerrilla advertising. e.g, I created years ago the "caprese gnochhi" - gnocchi, just in case, is that Italian potato dumpling. Instead of using only potato, I used ricotta and goat cheese. It was a blast, 50% of my profits came from that dish. About the advertising, you may try to read "Guerrilla Advertising" and "Guerrilla Marketing fo Free" - Jay Conrad Levinstogn lists hundreds os ideas there. Anothr thing I'd sugeest is to get online - it may be a website, a community, myspace, facebook, article marketing, etc, wher you talk to your clientele and keep in touch with their desiseres at the same time you presnt your restaurant. But, the sad part is what Edison said: 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration. You gotta do it. Baby steps, but constantly. Have fun!

Do you acutally install the sprinkler systems or can a homeowners do this themselves. Thinking of winter, I think of more fires and a need for saftey. Are they something you could sell on craigslist of ebay prehaps ? Wasnt sure the types of sprinkler systems we are talking about but this would get your name out there and also sell some product...Good luck I hope its helpful...Also thinking of craiglist you could potenitally do both install and sell them, then you have your winter and summer seasons covered....If it is something that requires you to install them..I would also advertize it as such...

Here is what I would do. It may take some work. If you have anything (paper, flyer, buisness card) which has your info (buisness name, what you do) written on it. Then you take them and go to the groceries store parking, Walmart parking lots and put them on cars. Also maybe you can write on their first 100 or whatever number to use you guys get a discount.
