They are payable for anything as long as you have been on income support, jsa or pension credit for 26 weeks prior to the request

Only thing you need to be aware of is that there is only one pot of money which has to last the DWP one tax year and you will be one of many applying for a loan and the applications are taken on a matter of priority

So with this in mind you may consider stating that the money is needed for esstential items such as furniture instead because i would say driving lessons would not be priority opposed to someone elses application that may be for say a cooker and bed

You do not need to prove what you want it for

I don't think they offer budgeting loans for driving lessons despite whether or not it's for a job. The form is very short. It offers you a selection of boxes which you can tick ie for clothing and footwear etc. Just tick some of the boxes. Ask for a little more than you require as they will always offer less. Maximum of £1000. Good luck :o)

not sure, but have you asked at the jobcentre? they may have some funding for this.
A few years ago i took part in a pilot scheme to help people into work and one if the girls not only had her driving lessons paid for but got £8 an hour while she did it as a training incentive.
I know lots of different jobcentres trial different schemes to get people into work so just nip in and ask to see an adviser to help you back to work - then once your on their good side enquire with them about it, especially if it's a huge barrier to work for you.
good luck!

If you need a LOAN to pay for driving lessons, what you REALLY need is less expensive driving lessons. I am sure you can find somewhere that will allow you to pay for each lesson as you go.
