The property has to be in Southern California and the specific expenses I am looking for are taxes, special assessments, insurance, utilities, on-site mgmt, professional mgmt, pool, landscaping, repairs & maintenance, reserves, and misc. We have payed in a combined total of $3,980 for federal. We have made a combined total of 16,000 for the year. Grossed We both file "Single with zero allowances" at the end of the year we file married jointly. We have 1 kid age 11. but we do not claim her through out the year. Should I expect to get most of our taxes paid in back??

Is their any tax benefit(s) by providing 100 percent support to family members?
After a failed marriage and health problems, I agreed to let my sister in law and her 8 year old daughter live with us until they got back on their feet. They had absolutely nothing. No home, no car, no money and a dead beat dad/ex-husband that we can’t locate.
I was happy to be able to help after all it is my wife’s sister and our niece. However, the expense has really taken a toll, increased utilities, food, etc. It has been 1 1/2 yrs and she has had no luck getting decent job and no signs of making progress. I claimed them the first year as dependants on my taxes but it seems I am missing something here. Any additional advise?

Are there any suggestions of how to do so, drastically within a short period of time? I am currently between 530-560. I have been paying off my debts over the last 5 months, but I only have 2 doctor bills on there and the rest are revolving, good-standing accounts (car payments, 3 credit cards).

my friend and i were having a discussion on what we hope to become one day. i told her i want to be a dentist, ultimately an orthodontist, and she told me she wants to be a lawyer. i didn't bring up a single thing after that, but of course, she had to go and bring up salary issues.

i most definitely am not becoming a dentist solely for the money. i really am doing it for the benefit of others (i get teary eyed when patients undergo smile reconstruction on extreme makeover, i really do! lol), but considering all the time spent learning and studying and staying in school - i believe the money is definitely something to like, as well.

to me it's obvious she's going in law for the money, just the way she talks about it. she said lawyers make more than dentists.

it's not a big deal to me, but it's got me wondering now. who really makes more money, lawyers or dentists?

i wrote the bank a check then when i got home i realised not only had i written the rong amount but id actually written the wrong name on the check. but they processed it anyway. How can they do that? i put a stop on the check cos i know it wont clear but noone seems bothered that a bank can go ahead and process a check that isnt even made out to them
what gives?

The 2008 bmw 3 series or the 2005-2008 Mercedes c-class and lastly the pontiac solsitce...My credit score is around 530-560 I have had a consistent good credit history with my credit card providers which are great banks ( bank of america, capitol one and nordstrom) what is the likelihood that I can get approved for one of these higher-end model cars? I opened an account through freecreditreport dot com and was wondering if everytime i look at my credit does it hurt my credit score????????????? Or does this only happen when someone else pulls my credit?

I got a furniture bill back in 1997. It was charged off in 2000. and was removed from my report. Now the debt is showing up from a new collector with a new date opened of 06/2007. Is this legal to start me all over again? I thought derogatory items has to be removed after 7 years. Is there anything I can do about this?

I put an offer in on a house Sunday. It is now Tuesday. My realtor said that the listing agent doesn't answer her calls or call her back. My realtor is very persistent and does a great job, so I know it isn't her. When I got there Sunday to write the offer, another lady was leaving, and I believe she had just written an offer. However she'd have submitted it by yesterday (Monday) so why haven't I gotten my answer yet? My realtor said that putting a time limit on an offer in this market does not work. So there is no time limit. The house is near forclosure, so why are the sellers taking their time? Are they waiting to get more offers in? I offered full asking price, but they are to pay $5,500.00 in seller concessions. I don't think that's a bad offer in this market. Here in MI. the market is really bad. When do you think I should expect a response by? I am getting kind of mad. I want out of this house before it gets cold outside.
