I am single mom to a 2 yr old. My ex has no contact with our daughter, but he does pay support. I work full-time and go to college full-time and pay childcare costs. Should I claim 2 or just 1. Also, does anyone know what I would get back since I do pay all child care costs. Would support factor into any of this? Thanks!

I know of a job that will be posted in the next month in another department of the company for which I work. I know the guy who is vacating the position. I also know of a guy who would be a well qualified applicant for the position but is not intrested for non work related reasons. I want to ask them the right questions so that I can tailor my resume and prep for a potential interview. I see these 2 guys as huge assets because they will give me honest answers and information about what is truely required for the job...information that might not be available in the "corporate" job posting/description. What questions should I ask? I want to tailor the answers to be better prepared for a potential interview, as well as make my resume more attractive.
The job is an IT support position...basic hardware break/fix with some minor networking and IT setup for presentaions. From what I see he is the IT go-to guy when something computer related malfunctions or is in need of an upgrade.

I have a 2 year gap in my work history. During this time I was in drug and alcohol rehab, and ended up in a work release program, where I worked a couple of jobs and was incarcerated. This all occured out of state. How do I account for this time period; 1 - without drawing attention to my criminal history, or 2 - that I lived out of state. I dont want to lie, but dont want to be too honest either. Any suggestions. By the way I have been clean now for over 3 years, and do not live the same lifestyle as before.

Basically whats happened it that a house that my wife fell in love with came on the market, so we had a look & she loved it even more. I wasnt sure as it needs gutting & I dont want to have to go through all that again as we did that in our current house.

Anyways we put our house on the market & someone put an offer in on it & we accepted it. I know for a fact that they still have to get thier mortgage sorted & finanlised (so in my opinion they are not ready to proceed). The house we wanted to buy, we have found out that it needs re-wiring throughout & this is going to cost an extra £4000.00 on top of the £5000.00 that is required to 'do it up'.

So we decided to back out of the deal as we cant afford it, pure & simple, but when I asked my agent if we could now reject the bid on our house, they said we are still liable for the projected commision which is £2500 inc VAT.

Can anyone advise as to when someone becomes ready, willing & able to proceed?

Massive thanks

I own a portfolio of real estate, and I specialize in bringing together roommates with similar interests and life styles together all under one lease. I'm up to quite a few homes these days that I need to fill, and Craigslist, Roommates.com and Easyroommates.com aren't really doing the trick. I'm also in the midst of getting a website developed where soon I will be advertising via Yahoo Overture and Google Adwords.

What else can I do, marketing campaigns can I compete in or what other websites are out there that could help my business?

hey im just wondering if its all legit for a mortgage company to say 'yeh we'll give you 100% mortgage' and then a couple of months later say 'No we wont give you 100% mortgage but we will give you a mortgage providing you put 5% of the cost down' ..... isnt that time-wasting and mis-leading for us?

We have applied with one lender. Our home is paid for, our credit is excellent our debts are low and income is very adequate for the amount that we would like to borrow. The lender came back with 10.7 interest. Couldn't believe it we qualified for 3.9 interest on our depreciating truck purchase that we bought this time last year. How is this interest rate figured? I thought being a secured loan and also great credit there would be no problem of getting around 6.5 Could someone explain this? We do intend to shop further. Thanks in advance.

I have about 5,000.00 dollars of a BoA Visa that appears to have been sent to a collections agency. I am 25 and make about 29k a year so i am on a shoe string budget. Would it be better to take out some kind of small loan to pay this debt off and then repay the loan or go through a debt management plan or debt consolodation plan?

Well, here is my situation. I am not married yet, but living with my g'f and our dog, Charlie.
We divide the bills, and we have no children. I do not pay child support or get food stamps or social security or any types of support.
I get confused about questions like the head of household question.. here are the questions..

Enter “1” for yourself if no one else can claim you as a dependent

Enter “1” if: You are single and have only one job; or You are married, have only one job, and your spouse does not work; or your wages from a second job or your spouse’s wages (or the total of both) are $1,000 or less.

Enter number of dependents (other than your spouse or yourself) you will claim on your tax return

Enter “1” if you will file as head of household on your tax return

im a college student and today i'm going to a job fair for the first time. i read a few articles about how to dress when going and got a lil discouraged. i dont have any professonial type clothing - only "church/sunday best" type of clothes, none of which include blazers or suits. is it ok to wear what i have, or am i setting myself up for failure so to speak? should i not go today, and wait for another job fair to come around, to sorta buy myself some time to add business clothing to my wardrobe?

thanks.

I work as an independent contractor, and basically use my vehicle as my office. Since my job requires me to travel each day, I keep a majority of my work related items in my vehicle. Unfortunately, this included receipts I have accumulated over the past few years. This past weekend, I visited a friend and noticed that my driver's side window was forced down when I returned to my car. A few items were removed (e.g., CD player face, CD wallet, workshirts, etc.) that I could easily replace. I did not realize that my box of receipts that included thousands of dollars in tax-applicable expenses was taken as well. Many of those receipts consisted of work-related expenditures made payable in cash... What should I do?? If I am eventually audited, I have little in way of proof for my write-offs... I really do not draw cash from the bank, as my cash spending over the last years has come from me selling off personal effects (mainly my old CD and vinyl record collection). Should I call the IRS?
