im a college student and today i'm going to a job fair for the first time. i read a few articles about how to dress when going and got a lil discouraged. i dont have any professonial type clothing - only "church/sunday best" type of clothes, none of which include blazers or suits. is it ok to wear what i have, or am i setting myself up for failure so to speak? should i not go today, and wait for another job fair to come around, to sorta buy myself some time to add business clothing to my wardrobe?

thanks.

You should wear to a job fair what you would wear to a job interview: the most profession-looking clothing you have. If you have the time and the money to get a business suit, get one. If not, go in the best clothes that you own. You are making a first impression on these employers, so look your best.

GO to the fair! If you dont have the clothes, just be have a neat and polished appearance and make sure you make up for appearance by having a professional demeanor and kill em with knowledge and with kindness. But dont lose out on an opportunity because of your lack of business wear. Some people arent just looking for what you look like. Just try to be prepared for the next time! Go get em!

You don't have to wear a suit but a least a shirt, black pants/ skirt and shoes (no sneakers). Get at least 20 copies of your resume in a folder and go to the job fair. On the job fairs what you basically do is to wait on long lines to hand out your Resume to the recruiter/hr person. There will be no interview so don't worry about it.

Definately go, and wear your "Sunday best" clothes, but opt for the most conservative colors and style (ie no frills or bright pink). As you can afford to, slowly add business attire to your wardrobe- even one blazer, 2 blouses, a skirt, slacks, and maybe a nice cardigan, will let you mix and match with what you already have. Best of luck!

anybody continually says gown to impression yet think of roughly it in case you have been going to a shape job and you wore a suit-might you get employed-NO the interviewer might experience you're afraid to get grimy. So what I propose is gown subsequently to what you're aiming for or positioned on a pair of denims and a silk shirt or some form of casual shirt=no longer a t-shirt with emblems

Protocol is right down the middle...A plain dress for church would work...Not the fancy kind you would wear for Christmas or Easter but the kind you would wear out to dinner with friends...Somewhere in that range is your best bet....

The thing that most sticks out on a Job Fair interview is the way you carry yourself, your first 15 seconds with the interviewer and your hand shake... Be confident like you already work for them..let them know your aspirations to "BETTER" their organization....

.Good luck!!!!!

I would go for sure. I'm sure you have something in your "sunday best" that would work. Nice black pants and a button up shirt would be just fine.
