Provided it's only used between your friends and you, it's more like a barter and trade thing, not interfering with US currency. It should be ok.
I've been to some fantasy conventions where 'money' was given out to be used at the vendor tables, and at the end of the show any vendor who had the fake cash would bring it to the show promoter and they'd be reimbursed with actual cash. So I know a version of that has been done before.

Completely legal. Worth just as much as U.S. currency is, or monopoly⢠money. Government says it's worth something and everyone believes it, there's no gold to back it up anymore. So as long as you are not printing a money that is attempting to counterfeit another countries money, you are totally safe. Have fun with it.

Yes, i think it is ok. I remember years ago Someone set up something similar in the U.K. They would issue "Letts" for work done and you could trade these "Letts" for services and goods.
The taxman may not be too keen if it becomes large.
