Yes, I was shopping in London when an announcement came over the loudspeaker to evacuate the store at once. This was when there was some terrorist activity from the IRA and it scared the daylights out of me. After I left the store, nothing ever happened and customers were let back in. Not sure if it was a drill or not. A very excited voice came over the inner-com and advised everyone to go to the nearest exit and evacuate the building.

Yes, I was in a professional football stadium containing upwards of 70,000 fans when such an announcement occurred. A taped announcement repeatedly advised that there was an emergency and all fans were directed to follow the evacuation schematics which appeared on the jumbo scoreboard screens.

When about a third had left the stadium, the emergency had been satisfied and exterior loudspeakers advised that it was safe to return to the stadium.
