We're trying to find my husband's 2005 w2 form, or a copy of it. Would h&r block still have it? That's who we did our taxes with. I wonder if there's any other place we could look.

When will we know the result of the test case regarding the bank penalty charges, and is it right that we should sit tight until the case has finished, or should we file a small claim now?

I have not been employed this year and I recently became certified to do home daycare through the state. It is already mid-september and if I do not get any children to take care of by the end of December can I still claim all the things I bought for the daycare? I have probably spent around $500 on things needed for it and I know I could get that all back on my taxes, but can I still if I do not end up with any kids to watch by 12-31 since I wouldn't have any income?

I'm asking this on behalf of my mom. My father and her divorced. For whatever reason she got to keep the Boat, but my dad had a loan out on it- that he took to pay off some credit card bills. Well now that he is remarried and other stuff- he and his current wife are out to get my mom any way they can- so they haven't been paying the boat loan and now today the repo guy showed up saying his work order showed that my mom had volunatirly called and said they could come take the boat. My mom told the guy she was sorry- but that she never called and the guy left. Obviously my mom doesnt care if my dad f***s his credit up getting it repo'd.. but he left the boat with her for us kids to use and knows hes doing it to be a dick and be mean to her.. What can she do? And what rights do repo men have if they come to your house?

We have 4 months to make our credit look decent or we won't be able to get an apartment to live in and we will be on the streets... We need to either make it vanish (the bad credit) OR we need to be able to pay it all off in 4 months somehow, so we are looking for anyone who would know how this can be done. Is there any way to put it all on ONE bill and slowly pay it off? We need HELP.

My sister and her fiance are engaged to be married next year, but would like to secretly marry this year. She is 22 and still in law school, which my parents pay for. If they get married in secret, will my parents have to be informed? Will her married status change the way they have to file their taxes? I think because they're still paying for her education and she only works during the summers, they list her as a dependent. I know very little about filing taxes myself and probably don't know what I'm talking about, so please help!!!

I have recently sent away for a info pack on the debt managment plan that the charity CCCS offer. I was wondering what everyones experiences were with this and what they thought? I have heard a few good things about it but just wanted to get a few more opinon's. Also, does anyone know if you can spread it over a few more years if you want to lower the monthly payment you have to send CCCS to pay the creditors?
Thanks

I was looking to buy I house that some friends of freinds owned. I had been told they were going to lose the house due to foreclosure. They ended up filing for bankruptcy. What happens with this house case? Are they just forgiven for missed payments and late fees or is there a chance they can lose the house after all? I am still interested in the property. I don't know them well enough to bring this up with them personally. From what I understand thgey had already made alterntive living arrangments. I'm just trying to gauge what my chance of acquiring this property is

I thought the whole idea was for people to buy local and fresh during the summer so why are are these supermarkets pushing horrid imported produce and a fraction of the price of local? (eg. FRESH strawberries local $4.99/qt. sit rotting while imported sells for $1.49? Nothing to do with cost to grow either...just a selling ploy as local is cheaper that supermarket costs in mom/pop stores)

I think there is something seriously wrong with this approach and I for one have been buying my produce in local mom and pop shops that gets it fresh from the local markets each day.

God only knows what they put on imported goods and I'm sick and tired of hearing "recalls" and warnings of e-coli infected foods etc.

How do you get people to do the same? Don't you think we should support local wherever possible?

I just hate that I am forced to shop at various different places because the quality sucks in supermarkets. It shouldn't be that way.

I am hosting a masquerade ball and hope to get several corporate sponsors. I am sure the corporations will ask if the sponsorship is tax exempt. Would it be? The checks will be made out to my business, expenses will be deducted and then 100% of proceeds minus expenses will go to charity.

I currently work in North Carolina but I reside in South Carolina, how am I supposed to do taxes so that I'm not having to pay income tax to both states? I will be filing joint taxes and have only worked in N.C. since May of 2007and my employer takes out N.C. income taxes for me but not S.C. taxes. I've worked in S.C. prior to May in 2007.

The only thing I can think of is filing taxes for N.C. as a non-resident and then filling the S.C. residential taxes. I will be going through H & R Block so I highly doubt they would know what to do any better than I do.

Thank you in advance for your help.
