A walkthrough was completed with me, and signed for all damages they found. At the time, they said the carpets were fine, and just needed to be professionally cleaned. Now, a week later, they are claiming they needed to pull the entire carpet out, which I know didn't need to be performed. Can they do that, and charge me for it? Also, I had them signed on the exit walkthrough, that any changes or increases to the initial cleaning estimates, that they needed to notify me first. They went ahead and perfomed all the work anyway. What are my rights in this situation?
Thanks,
Tony in California

Your friend has been telling you that she knows someone is a publicly traded corporation who gives her information that lets her know when to buy and sell stock in that corporation. Consequently, your friend has made quite a bit of money. She has offered to share these inside tips with you for a small percentage of any gain you may make as a result. Her offer is very tempting to you. Are these friendly tips ethical?

I told my husband that I had been keeping a considerable amount of credit card debt from him. I was trying to pay it off on my own because it was my responsibility and I was scared to tell him because I didn't want him to think I was irresponsible (which I obviously was anyway). Now that I have come clean, we have agreed that he would take charge of the finances and bills, which I am fine with. We both are saving receipts from everything and putting them into an excel spreadsheet, so I am forced to be accountable for all my expenses. We took out a loan to pay for our debt. When I told him about my debt, I felt like a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, but now, I feel depressed all the time. I feel so guilty about ruining his finances and not being honest with him. He has told me that he won't ever forget what I've done, but we will work through it. But he definitely still gets mad at me for it and I feel like I deserve everything bad that happens to me for doing this..

I am considering renting a condo from a woman in Miami Beach Florida. The property is listed on craigslist.com, vacationrentals.com, and she also has her own website.

Everything looks legit, but is there anything I can do to protect myself from scam artists. I would hate to send money to some stranger, then arrive in Florida and don't have a place to stay.

Are these people required to register somewhere, or do websites such as vacationrentals.com screen people before they are allowed to list a property?

Has anyone ever done this before? If so, what was your experience?

I'm looking into investing in the stock market, because its something ive always wanted to do. But i would like to know how and when do you start seeing profits from investing, and when you do see the profits are you liable to touch that money at the moment or are you supposed to let sit there for awhile. I know this might sound funny but i'm a real real beginner. I just dont want to do anything that I'm going to regret.

If parents lists x number of children on their tax return, how much money is deducted from their income for each child?

I'm not asking about the $1,000 tax credit, child care tax credit, or how much a child can earn tax free.

What is the raw value of the tax deduction?

I called IHOP to make sure they were still hiring for the position of server or hostess and the conversation on the phone was going quite well so I told them I'd come the next day to drop off my resume and fill out the application. A few days later the manager called me and said she put me on shift on Friday and Saturday. I didn't have to go to an interview and so on. I mean is this possible or too good to be true?
Also, in canada if we are under 15 we are suppose to have written permission from our parents before we work so the manager told me to get my parents to write one, but how come some of my friend who are a few months younger than me didn't have to. Kind of confused here.
Thanks.

Ok, so I really want to go on a class trip to Europe, but I only have $530 and the trip costs $3,140....I still need $2,607!! My parents tell me to ask my grandparents for the money, but I think that would be rude........anyways, I saw some kids at my school selling chocolates and they made a lot of money. I know the club they're in supplied the chocolates, but how would I get some to sell? Also, would it be illegal to buy candy from the supermarket and sell it for more than I bought it at my school?
