hey I'm 17 and my mom is thinking about getting me a credit card for gas mainly.

i want to know whats the best credit card to get

don't worry i won't use it and go over the limit...I'm not a female teen....LOL

It'll probably have to be a prepaid one. The other option would be for your mom to put you on one of her credit cards. You can't get one in your own name until you are 18.

I would suggest getting a secured card. This is where you "bank" so much money with the card company. This "bank" is equivalent to your credit limit. The difference is that unlike a "bank card/debit card" you will still pay off your credit balance each month as if the credit card company was not holding any of your funds. This way it builds your credit and at the same time there is always a safety net for you to fall back on if need be. best card is CASH.
don't worry the credit card companies KNOW u will use it. Guaranteed
if u need a card get a prepaid gas card.

When I was your age, my first credit card was Citibank, they gave me a student credit card it was platinum and had a credit line of about $800 dollars.
