the middle initial. I submitted a dispute last year, but they did not remove it. Is there anything I can do to force them to clean this off of my report. What procedure and steps should I take?

Dispute it again with the credit bureau. Typically all the credit bureau does the first time is send the dispute to the creditor who says its correct. That's pretty much all the investigating.

You may have to sent a letter (certified, return receipt) to the creditor demanding proof that the debt belongs to you. Request copies of contract or other documents. With that in hand you can dispute with the credit bureau again that the debt does not belong to you.

Send in a dispute letter to all 3 credit bureaus.

Order the 3 free credit bureaus online, and email the disputed item to them. Call if it does not come off, and send a positive ID. if you have to.

You have to keep contacting them. And call too, if there's a phone number anywhere. The squeeky wheel gets the grease as they say, you do have to be persistant.
