How much will be on average deducted from my paycheck to include federal taxes, income taxes and any other taxes in NC? In Texas we do not pay state income tax so my check is "bigger" than NC all things equal. 20%, 30%? Help?

Should I close my very first credit card? I want to close it because they changed my APR and they added an annual fee last year and I just now noticed it because I don't use the card. I have no idea why they did this because I have great credit and my husband has excelllent credit. I've read about Capital One doing this to other people as well. Also, is it bad to close cards that you aren't using? We want to buy a house and we don't want to have too much available credit. How much is too much available? We have 2 AMEX, one with no limit and the other with a 10k limit, 2 Mastercards with 9k and 1 Visa 2k available. I also have 5 store cards. We only use 1-2 major cards at a time and we rotate so that they all get used. We have less than 4k total charged on the cards combined. I would close more of my store cards, but I've had those the longest. Would that hurt my credit score???

Okay.. long story short :) Does anyone know of any free budgeting programs that me and my husband could use to get our money on track?
We, like everyone..., don't know where the hell our money goes every week. And we try to keep track of it, but you know.. a dollar here... a dollar there... it goes way to fast!!!!

So... we need to figure out how to take every paycheck, and put money aside for each bill... so then when it is due, we can actually pay it, instead of taking it out of the check my husband gets and trying to live off of $40 a week!!!!

Any suggestions or anything from anyone would be awesome!!!!!

I'm trying to do some research on home prices in our area because my husband and I are in the process of looking for our first home.

I'm getting confused by all the reports that say that the median home price is $680,000 but that the average sales price is $720,000. I would be extremely grateful to anyone who can explain to me the difference between the two.

Here is the situation. Four years has passed and no payment has been made at all on the credit cards. What if within the four years the Company has sued the person before SOL is over and the person wasn't aware or know he has been sued because he was outside the United States sick. What will happen then? thank you

This is actually my mom's debt that I feel was wrong for a debt collector to have done. I received a call from this collector of any attorney's office who was trying to reach my mother. He explained that he was a 3rd party collector who purchased the debt from the original debtor to collect themselves.

He gave me her previous and current home address; 2 of her credit card numbers (full 16 digits); and he literally read off her credit report (other debts; amounts owed; vehicle information). The other important detail is that he gave me exact numbers of the total amount she owes and what arrangements can be made to pay off the debt (no arrang. accptd) After this conversation, not a week later, I received a letter in the mail directed to my mother saying that "per their agreement" a settlement was accepted to make 2 payments (one per month) to pay off the debt. SHE NEVER EVEN SPOKE TO THIS GUY NOR DOES HE HAVE HER NUMBER OR AN ACTUAL ADDRESS OF WHERE SHE LIVES! Any suggestions?

I was talking to my friend about a particularly bad time I was going through with money. I couldn't afford a house payment so he offered to let me borrow $1600.00. I accepted. This was in December.

I was going through a divorce and he had a crush on me. I care about him too but then I wanted to work on my relationship with my ex so I got back with him. I kind of let the money slide and didn't pay him back at all.

I didn't tell my husband about this. He emails me in August and told me that I need to pay him back because its ruining our friendship. He said I was taking advantage of him. I got really offended and told him to never talk to me again. I felt like he was taking stabs at my character as a person.

I sent him $50.00 and he sent me back the check ripped up. He said money isn't worth losing a friendship over. Am I being a jerk?

I'm 25 years old but I made very bad decisions with credit cards and loans and ended up having bills that were higher than my income. I've recently lost my job and therefore cant afford to pay for anything. I dont own a home, I live with my parents now. I have a car that I make payments on, which have recently gone behind slightly. I have debts going into collections and I have a credit card company threating to take me to cout for the past due amount of $4800. I'm about $12,000 in debt, not including my car or student loans. Would it be best to just file for bankruptcy? What happens if I do file? I dont own any posessions other than a tv, laptop, and car, but I think in Chapter 7 you keep your car. So I have nothing for my creditors to take from me, really. I recently lost my job and I'm trying to find a new one. Having no income makes it impossible to pay what I owe. Should I file for bankruptcy? What happens to my debt and if I do?
