Hi. I've read a number of bank sights about their retirement packages. However, are there any unbiased resources out there that explain what a traditional IRA offers and what a Roth IRA offers? Any websites out there? Any pointers?

I am looking at a home that has 150' on a river. The house is valued at $170,000 but the owner is willing to give it to me cheap. What I want to know is in 10 years if I did nothing but regular upkeep would the house and land automaticaly increase in value due to time and not improvments? and if so, how much do you think?

Like 0% loans, higher credit limits, canceling annual fees, etc.?

It's a simple formula really that I've used over and over.

If you have a card with no or very little balance, and your overall credit is good, call that card and cancel.

They'll start offering you all kinds of perks to keep you on board, because it's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The cards know its much easier and cheaper to retain an existing customer than get a new one. You should do this with all your cards once a year.

My last time around, 1 card gave me $20k at 0% for 1 year with no transfer fee. Another gave me $24k at 0% for 10 months with a $75 fee. I put all that money into a high interest online savings account and made about $175, while using that money to make the monthly payments.

I'd bet they do the same for you to, maybe not with those dollar amounts, but the idea is the same. If they want to stick you with a fee, tell them they've got to waive it or cap it.

My credit score is over 700, my mortgage will be about 1246 a month, I make about 3300 gross, and I pay about 500 dollars between car payment and student loans. I have about 20 grand saved up in the bank. My mortgage guy told me on Tuesday that he submitted the loan to the underwriter on Tuesday and that I should hear from him later that day or tomorrow for the clear to close. Its now the end of Thursday and I haven't heard anything at all! I don't know why but I'm worried this whole thing will fall through. THe property is only 116K by the way, and I plan on putting down 10 percent down payment.

So I bought an item for $30 US, as a total cost and shipping. Except I use canadian currency, do I send money in my paypal account of $30 and change the option to US? or find out what $30 US is in Canadian and send money in canadian, but would'nt that just give the seller canadian currency?

Im new at this. I know send money on paypal, but what happens if I click the pay now button on the ebay site? He's given me an email to send the payment, would'nt that just mean "send money"?

For example, Transunion has shown that I have been able to up my credit score by 100pts in the last 1 1/2 years, but Experian is showing a drop by a few points. Transunion says my credit is good, experian shows my credit is poor. How the hell can one be bad and one be good? I pay ALL bills on time and I always pay more than the minimums. I've even paid off a couple this year and I don't have much open. Can someone help me with this confusion?

Further to my question on house repossesion, The house was owned by me and my ex husband and i understand that we are liable for the debt, so can anyone explain why the debt agency have insisted on taking my ex husbands new wifes wages into conscideration when they where working out what he could repay.
Surely the debt belongs to us and she shouldnt be made to pay for our debt. It just doesnt seem fair.
Any help would be appreciated. and many thanks to the people that replyed to my initial question on house repossesion.. You were all very helpful.

I am a temporary contract worker at a summer day camp. In this job I only get one lump sum paycheck at the end of the two months. Unfortunately I was sick one day about 4 weeks before the end of my contact and was told that the payroll was already submitted and my paycheck will now be held an extra 3 weeks becase they have to dock my pay.
Is this legal ?
what should I do ? I need the money to pay for tuition and I couldn't help it that I got sick , I'm only human !

I always read in career publications that you must ALWAYS negotiate your salary, even if you are happy with their number, because hiring managers expect it and lowball you on purpose. I also know you're never supposed to give an exact number, but I was pressured on the interview and gave them a range.

Can I still negotiate if they offer me more than I asked for? Can I play the "I have a higher offer card" or is that a dangerous game to play?
