It depends on the state you live in. Some states have what's called a Depatment of Rehabilitations Services. They pay for all kinds of things like surgury, college tuition and books, medicine, and medical bills. You may search your state for one and contact them to see what services they provide. Also, there are things like The Home Ownership Opportunity Program (HOP) or
The Down Payment and Closing Cost Home Buyer Program. They are loan programs that are offered through federal funding. Find your city's official website and see if they offer these services yet. If they don't, ask them to! Here's a link to my city's website to get a good idea what I'm talking about. Good LUCK!

Go to www.okc.gov/ and click on citizen services at the top of the page, and then scroll down to housing services and click!

Check to see if there is a HABITAT FOR HUMANITY office near where you live. They sometimes have houses available , and the families they help--whether building a totally new house or the minor repairs needed on an already existing house--pay only what their income will allow for rent/house payments (example, if all they can spare a month is $50, that is all they pay). The website is www.habitat.org/how/default.aspx (this page tells how they operate).
