How long do I have to have a U.S. Savings bond in order to cash it in? Just wondering cuz I'm not sure! All answers appriciated!

ee bonds 6 months ii bonds 12 monts - but if you let a period go buy any accure interest will be lost.. excample if you have a bond date jan on the 1st aug it will have six months interest -- but if you wait until sept instead of the following jan you will lose the interst from aug-sep. series ee bonds draw about 3.5 but the ii series draws an interest tie to the prime rate!!!

The minimum holding period is 1 year for EE bonds and for I bonds. I would cash them as soon as I could. They offer one of the lowest rates available.
