if you only have 2 things on your credit, in collections, plus about 7 medical bills adding up to a total of $1600(for every thing on the credit)?

this isn't on my credit, but my friends, and his score is not too bad, its 575

and also if he pays it straight out, how will it appear on his credit, will, if he asks, they put something in the report saying it was paid off, and will his score go up by doing this?

I'm amazed your friend's score is that high. Is there anything good on that report?

The average FICO score is 725. That makes your friend's score barely a D.

If he pays off all those negatives, they will mark it paid. It will look better than not being paid. But he will have to establish a consistent, on time payment history for at least 2 years to start improving that score.

I think you need to improve your credit score. To find out specifically what you must do to raise your score, you can order your score report from all three national credit bureaus. In addition to your scoreyou still have to pay to find out your credit score, the three-digit number ranging from 300 to 850 that is the key to your borrowing costs.

If there are only two things on your credit report, and they are both in collections, that is about as bad a credit as you can have. It has demonstrated that you did not pay any of your bills.

Please tell me that you misused a word there. Please tell me that when you said in collections, you meant something like in good standing.
