Auction, The city auction, depending on the agency who confiscated the house.

You can't claim real estate from unpaid PERSONAL property taxes, only REAL property taxes.

The process on disposal of real property for unpaid property taxes depends upon the state.

Some auction the property off directly to the highest bidder. There may or may not be a redemption period for the owner of record to pay the taxes to the new owner and recover title.

Others auction off the right to collect the taxes. In that case the owner of record has a period of time that they can redeem the tax deed for what you paid for it plus accrued interest.

You can expect any leinholder to be there bidding on it to protect their rights.

For local procedures, contact the local tax collector. They'll be happy to explain how the process works and let you know if there are any pending sales.

You can contact the Tax Dept in your County or the City and inquire on the property that you are interested in, and they can tell you how much is owed on the personal property taxes.
