Just like a credit card. Swipe and (sometimes) sign. Piece of cake.

Very carefully or you will get into bad spending habits. A check card acts like a check, it takes money from your account. Make sure you have the money in the account. Just use the card and record the amount in your check book. I would keep a budget too. The card swipes just as a debit or credit card.

Please note, this is not a credit card that someone pays off at the end of the month.
Anything you buy with it, the money comes out of your parents' bank account, usually immediately.
Just present it to the wait-person or cashier. Everyone takes debit cards today. As previously stated, you may have to enter a PIN, or sign a receipt. Take paper home with you so you and parents know how much was taken out of the account.

Just like a regular credit card, although some of those merchants will automatically know it's a debit card and ask you to enter the PIN.

Its the same as writing a check each time you use it so be careful to record your purchases. They money is withdrawn from a normal checking account.
Some places have you swipe and sign your name on the receipt but others have a pin number instead.
As a safety precaution ...I write "SEE ID" in Sharpe pen, on the back where your signature should be. Some people think its a pain to have to show ID but trust me..if your card is stolen you will be glad you did!

Just got it and thinking of using it already huh?
Just remember, the money you are borrowing on that card will have to be paid back to the bank!

Where will that money come from then the bank starts asking for it?
