My landlord wants to make me a live in manager of his building to make repairs and run the building including taking care of all the complaints that come with it. I take care of the business part and my husband takes care of the labor and repairs. The landlord has a management co right now that are being fired and im the one picking up their slack. I pay 650.00 for rent and he's currently paying me 150.00 monthly for only cleaning and mopping the building-taking the trash out for 15 units. What should be a fair price for all our work? I live in Los Angeles California.....

Yeah, okay, im a teenager with a summer job and i havent taken consumer education and im immature blah blah blah and i dont know whether i need to pay taxes or not. Im working in a store for this woman who runs her own business. She contacts other companies and orders personalized stationary, towels, etc. I wasn't really hired i guess...all she knows about me is my name. Everytime i work she writes out a check from her store's account and gives it to me. My friends who have jobs in retail, as lifeguards, hostesses etc. all have to pay taxes, but i dunno if i need to. probly, huh?

Hi, there is a mirror closet door in my apartment that had gotten cracked due to moving furniture in. I am able to get it fixed for cheap so that it doesn't get taken from my security deposit. My question is, am i entitled to go ahead with the repairs or is there any kind of regulation against that? Do I have to tell my landlord? I am moving out soon and need quick responses. Thank you in advance!

I recently graduated H.S. & decided to find a part-time job. Needless to say I was quite desperate and was applying everywhere, I quit my last job because I moved away. Bank jobs called me back for interview after interview but there was no 3rd call. =( So I accepted a job at a very large company working in their food court for $11.00/hr. It is very excellent pay considering all my past jobs were $7.40/hr. But I am soo embarrassed of what they have had me doing, they don't allow me to handle cash until 3 months (now it is a probationary period), so instead I just wipe down tables, sweep/mop floors, change their huge trash bins, help grab orders, and roll hot dogs and do a bunch of other stuff. The only thing i hate is being out in the food court/lobby picking up people's trash, People look at me, although some say GOOD JOB and YOU WORK TOO HARD. but I seen a family that are related by marriage to me and I was so embarrassed I put my head down. What do you think??

I am searching for investment properties. Where I currently live there are several inexpensive homes that I might consider buying as investment property to either buy and rent, or buy, fix up and sell. However, these homes are, in my opinion, in a less desirable part of town. Has anyone ever bought a home in a less desirable location and used it as rental property, or bought, fixed it up, then sold it? What was it like renting to individuals who might not be able to afford an expensive rent? Good or bad experience?

My opinion is that even though one might be able to afford an expensive house, they have to live somewhere.......

Thanks.

I'm 23 years old and thinking about enrolling in a 2 year nursing program. I currently have a bachelor's degree in liberal arts.

I also thought about going to grad school, to be a teacher.

I really want to have a family someday. I want to be able to have lots of quality time with my children. I want to have holidays off and the ability to go to my children's functions on weekends and such.

I know teaching is a great career, if you want a family.. But what about nursing?

What are some pros and cons?

I would understand if the government taxed cigarettes if they provided free healthcare because of the conflict of interest. But what is their reasoning behind the current sin tax? The the government just wants to profit off of peoples addictions? Plus how can the federal government require tobacco companies to discourage youth smoking all the while the tax on cigarettes helps pay for public education?

Ed & Elaine Brown have stated they will pay a tax on their income if the I.R.S. would show them the law requiring Americans to pay a tax on their labor (income).

Why would the I.R.S. rather murder Ed & Elaine Brown then simply show them the law so the Brown's can pay the money the I.R.S. claims they are owed ??
