I want to make an offer on a home that isn't yet on the open market, but the owner is in financial difficulties. I have to wait for my loan application to be approved before I talk to him. Meanwhile the agent in the area that I have consulted tells me she managed to talk with him briefly, and learnt that he is in difficulty because he can't meet a balloon payment.
Not wanting to show my ignorance I said no more then looked up a definition.
Why would he have taken out this type of loan instead of a home equity one? Does he not have an option to negotiate to change the payment for another loan?

I have a ton of books and i cannot take them all with me. I dont want to take them to goodwill i only have a car and it would cost me money to get rid of them taking them there it would take about 3 or 4 trips. I was thinking about putting a free books sign out by the highway but i don't know if anyone would take them.

Just out of curiosity and because someone may be using my number, I was just wondering, what can happen if two people try to file taxes using the same Social Security number? I mean, can either one be punished or how does the law find out who and where that other person lives? What is the whole process and what exactly can happen?

I want to get a certification or degree in the healthcare field... hopefully something that will require 2 years of school (associates degree) or less. Any recommendations what certification or degree you think I should get?

I love working directly with people, I have excellent communication skills, but I CANNOT handle a field where death happens a lot, and I also can't do anything in a dental office. Any help would be appreciated.

Starbucks would have to hire workers and
Wal-Mart would have to get them space. If this relationship was found to be mutually beneficial can I get paid for the idea?

(the above example is hypothetical....just trying to see if I propose two companies should unite and I present a business plan to both companies if I can be paid). Thank you very much for anyone's help or direction for help.

The real estate market in Illinois (Chicagoland area) is slow right now, so there is not a big demand for new homes to be built. My boyfriend is a carpenter, he is in the union and does mainly residential work (framing). If he were to be laid off, what are the best areas in the U.S. for carpenters to find work?

I was told that I needed some expensive dental work, so I had to apply for credit in order to finance it. It turns out that I didn't need the work done after all, so now I don't need the credit. Should I close my account, or will that look bad on my credit report. My other option is to leave it open until I need it one day. I already have 5 open credit cards an really don't want another. What should I do?

We move into our first purchased home this Saturday. We managed to get a better deal for a FAST ckosing date, which means we only have FIVE (yes, FIVE) days to pack our home, set up utilities, everything. (We move into it this Saturday).
So, I need some tips on how to make this go easier. My fiance is working a ton of overtime this week, which he booked in for months ago. So, he's pretty busy, and I will be doing pretty much everything myself (packing, phone calls, organizing the move).

To complicate things, we have a 5 yr old, 3 cats, a dog, AND I am 37 weeks pregnant.

If you have any hints or tips to help make this easier, let me know PLEEEASE! Kind of like a timeline of what I should be doing day by day would be handy. I am donating a TON of our unused items to cut down on moving un necessary items, so it should help a bit. Also, our new home is only 2 blocks from where we currently live.

Moving hints, tips, and new home decor tips would be handy!

THANK YOU!!!
