where I live/own have been built on faulty foundation. One building has cracking walls to the point of water seeping into units. There are other structural problems with other buildings but that is the worst. They are going after the builder, within an allowed time limitation although any docs drawn up protect the builder. They were built in 2001 & are within a 6 yr. limitation. They have repeatedly asked the builder to fix the issues but they are refusing so it has gone into litigation.

I divorced my first husband last year. I quick claimed the house to him, but he must refinance to have my name removed from the mortgage. He has not yet done this. Is there a way to force him to do this. He has already lapsed on payments and I want to protect my credit.

Are there any established studies/guidelines that indicate that condos that allow dogs have a higher or lower resale value than condos that have a "no-dog" rule? Here is the situation: My condo association currently allows dogs and is considering adding a 'no-dog' rule. Most condo buildings in my town do not allow dogs - therefore, my condo is in the minority by allowing dogs. Also, I found a statistic (from the Humane Society) that 39% of households in the USA own dogs --- when you put the 2 stats together, and take into account the law of supply & demand, then my building (that allows dogs) is a rarity, and therefore could command a higher resale value to dog owners since they are the only dog-friendly condos available in my town and since approx 40% of the US population consists of dog owners... Does this logic make sense, and/or do you know of any related studies/data? (I need to prepare for a presentation for the condo board) THANK YOU!!!

My father wants to claim me on his taxes as a dependent and meets all criteria besides possibly the Residence test. He is telling me that because I am a student I am "temporarily absent" from his residence, despite the fact that I have been moved out for 4 years now and I am never moving back.

Is he right?

I owe money to Quest Diagnostics, a large company that does lab work. I have hypothyroidism and my dr was having me come in for several blood tests a year, at a point, as often as once a month, till the thyroid levels in my blood were steady and healthy & my meds seemed like the right dose for me. there were a few yearly physical exams w/ blood tests as well. Some visits I was uninsured others i was (when i got F/T hrs w/ benefits) but cuz I was diagnosed with my condition prior to joining, they wouldnt cover it (prediagnosis) for the first year of the plan. All occured over a few years, off the top of my hear I think the first visit was oct/nov 2004? First collections called a lot but i didnt answer & it just stopped one day. There was a while when I got letters by mail each one trying to sound more serious/threatening than the last. They didnt stop but slowed down tons. I need my debt total so I can plan payment.Bill says amount due for indiv visit. Sent separately but inconsistantly

My close cousin is getting evicted. She has always paid reant on time and such... she has a 7 days notice, landlord says there are too many issues with vandilisim and that they don't take care of the apartment... the truth is, that their water has been shut off for 3 days now (the water is included in rent payment) and it seems to be that people are trying to break into their apartment? Is there a website that shows publicly the rules and/or guidelines to being a tenant in an apartment, and do they vary where you live? She lives in Kaukauna, WI. Anything would help tremendously. Thank you.

My company deals with event entertainment (casino [Monte Carlo] night, poker party types of things) and I'm trying to reach out to big corporations in NYC, in the finance sector especially.

What's the easiest/best/cheapest way to go about it? Advertising? Press release? Cold calls? I have no clue! Help!!

I am an apartment renter in Rockaway, NJ. I just talked to my brother who asked whether I could dog-sit for him for about 5 days. I said I'd have to ask first, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem. I had already known my lease said "no pets allowed without prior written permission", but I was never worried about this, being that I knew tons of people in my complex had cats that sometimes wander the parking lot, and are always sitting on the window sills. So I called up the rental manager (who likes me to begin with, and I never cause any problems) and she tells me absolutely no dogs whatsoever. I'm only a little perturbed because the lease doesn't say "no dogs, but other animals may be okay", it says "no pets without prior written permission". The best part is, the dog has literally never barked, she's 14 years old, and she is friendly, slow, and little. They say they don't want others to be jealous and get a dog, but that's why they have the case-by-case written permission clause.

I'll make this short, was job hunting for better pay, more hrs. First interview, was hired by "XYZ"but have to work sat(which I dislike)but accepted offer, gone to more interviews to find the "right"one for me, day before I was to start @XYZ,I called to decline offer (bec. of sat.hours)and also had lots of interviews lined up, 2-3 weeks later, declined 2 more offers and decided to go with XYZ again, (husband&wife medical practice)I called to ask if they found someone, so I was to start there 2weeks, When I resigned, I resolved issues w/current employer and decided "happily"to stay.So for 2nd time, I called to cancel the job, they were furious, wife called me at my work and was screaming her head off, saying Im unprofessional, that they let someone go bec.of me, That she will contact my employer and tell them what I have done!!So do they have right to contact my employer, I feel bad for doing that to them, tried to explain but she wouldnt hear of it./Is it their right to call my boss?
