Merchandise is not the same in every store. At sometimes stores don't carry the same stuff just being 100 miles away from each other. It all depends on the locality and region. If the store is near a major body of water (lake/ocean) they would carry more water items. In the southern areas it is warmer during the winter months so they don't carry such a wide variety of say, winter coats like they do in Iowa. I've had many people ask for items they have seen in Texas here in Iowa and I've never even seen it before.

They will start with the basics than using there advanced inventory tracking system they will make adjustments to the local market. However sometimes the stuff from the south will take off and stay in the store.

Their merchandise isn't totally the same over different areas. Many of the basics will be in all stores, but the overall merchandise will be tailored to the area.
