Tattoos - July 2007

A few weeks ago, I went to a tattoo artist who designed a gorgeous calf piece for me. During the first session, we just had the outline done. We didn't schedule a 2nd session, as we were unsure of when it would heal because my skin had a bit of trouble holding the ink at first. We decided that I would give him a call when it was healed. I paid him up front for the tattoo. He gave me a great deal, so I paid it off. Now that the tattoo is healed, I went to the shop in person to see if he was there so we could schedule a 2nd session, but I was told that he had quit about 4 days prior! I was given his number, which is disconnected, and was told that someone else could finish it, but I'd have to pay full price for it all over again. What are my options from here? Also, I don't want anyone on my back about paying up front. I was undercharged for the piece itself, so it really wasn't a problem to pay up front. Esp. for the time he put into it. Had he charged per hour, it would've broke me!

I gauged my ears with a 14g taper two days ago. My left is infected, my right is fine. The tapers are still in, but I wanted to know if there was something else I could use to clean them, more effective than antibacterial soap, and acrylic friendly because i want to salvage the tapers.

I got the idea by watching CSI something or other. The dead body had a rug impression on his arm. Pretty fancy.
It would contain no coloration.
May be good for those who don't want tatoo to show up at first glance?

I just got a new tattoo of a sun on my ankle saturday and it is starting to scab and has bled some. I have been using alcohol each morning to clean the old cream away and to keep infection down. Now I am worried that the alcohol will take out some of the ink and make my tattoo dull. Can anyone answer my question?

Ok today is my birthday (16 y.o.) and my mom is taking me to get a tat but i dont know what I should get. I want it to be on my ankle and like I want it to represent my personality. I'm fun, down to earth, sweet, flirty, silly, smart, and caring. So what should I get??? I dont want it to be any names because I think that the body is art and only art should be put on it. Okay, so I want to get a tattoo on my left forearm. It is a black sun--looks like a crescent moon but with flames spiraling around it. It's only about 3 sq inches, maybe a little more--so not a very big tattoo. It will be all black. Is the undreneath of my forearm a good place to put it? Or should I choose a different place and why? Pain isn't a concern (covered in piercings and such already), but is there anything else I should consider (keep in mind I do know all about the risks and aftercare, and I do have a good artist in a clean facility that I trust).

I had a flower tattoo on my inner wrist a few days ago. It is yellow with a green stem. It looks very bright at the moment and i was wondering if this will fade and if it doesnt, how can i go about getting it to look a bit lighter?

leave bandage on tattoo for at least 5 hours longer is better never rebandage after you take bandage off wash tattoo with mild soap being certain to remove any ointment or dry blood pat dry with towel let tattoo air dry for at least 10 minutes before you apply a very light coat of a&d ointment about 5 times a day wash tattoo at least 3-4 for times a day yor tattoo will peel in 4-5 days after it does then use co co butter loition on tattoo insted of ointment no direct sunlight bathtubs swimming tanning beds or picking and or sacrathing tattoo untill completely healed should take about 4-5 days if you have any questions ask you artist not your freinds who do you think knows best

I got a tattoo on Thursday evening. It's about 3 inches wide. It's two lines of a song, written in black cursive writing. The artist did not show me the transfer paper before putting it on, and once the paper was on and centred and all that I had a hard time reading it upside down. This is my fourth tattoo and I got all of them done at the same shop, so I figured I didn't need to examine it with a magnifying glass, you know?

Anyway, the last word is supposed to be 'cries'. Instead, it says 'dies'.

I took an Xacto knife and cut away some of the skin that the wrong letter was on, so hopefully when my skin heals the letter won't be there. What else can I do?
