Wash it with antibacterial soap once a day for a week and after that, use non poreclogging, fragrancefree lotion. NEVER alcohol. A&D ointment will clog pores, and that could make your tattoo infected.

there is no reason for you to be using alcohol to clean your tattoo. antibacterial soap is the best thing to clean a new tattoo with before putting on new lotion or cream or whatever your artist suggested..

Dont use anything like that. Use a gentle cleanser like cetaphil that wont irritate the new tattoo and then apply your A&D but after three days you should quit that and lotion it three times a day with plain ol' lubriderm.
Also... dont pick the scabs or the flaking, it will pull ink out.

no, that will make your tattoo fade, just some soapy water and then put the a & d ointment, i like to use vaseline for mine, it keeps it nice and shiny, looks like i just got it, oh yeah and don't peel the scab off either that will ruin the color.

NO NO NO! DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
just wash it gently in the shower or under water with NON SCENTED soap, and the pat it dry with a towel. After drying it use the cream lightly, and at night when you sleep for the first few days, make sure you wrap it loosely with suran (sp?) wrap so you don't scratch it while sleeping! :)
