Tattoos - March 2007

I got my third tattoo on saurday. The artist told me to keep it moist and to wash it with anti-bacterial soap. He did my other two and I followed his advice with no color fading. I just recently read a post where it said not to use anti-bac. soap. I am really worried now, cause I have been washing with the soap. The tattoo I got is very intricate with alot of color and I do not want it to fade. Can someone please tell me if I should stop using the soap?

I was thinking of getting a cover up tattoo some time soon, my qusetion is..Is it harder to cover up certain colors? The one I'd like to cover is black, red and green, I've heard that they are hard colors to cover, is that true?

Okay. I'm trying to get my first tattoo over the next few days. I've gone to numerous websites for tattoo ideas and have found a few things. One that looked the best for me, but that I'm not 100% set on is a cross with a crown and two sahes. The top one saying lord of lords and the second king of kings with the bible scripture. I'm a christian. Though it does have meaning I wanted to get something more meaningful. I have seven siblings. 6 sisters and one brother. Maybe even my parents. Anyway. I was thinking of getting all their names in a design since we are all very close, but I can't think of anything. Anybody have any ideas? Serious answers only please. I don't want any hearts or anything girly. Please help thanks.

Ok I love tattoos and I already have two and I want another one and I want it on the back of my neck but Ive heard from tons of people that after you get a tattoo on the back of your neck that its hard to find a profesional job and I dont wanna have to wear my hair down all the time just to hide it.

I am having a friend draw a tattoo design for me. If I bring it in, would I offend the tattoo artist? The artist may have tp draw it to resize it, etc.

I got a monroe and now I think its infected. The flat plate on the inside of my lip has mad an indention and a hole and the skin wants to grow over it. The outside is red and swollen...what should I do? How can I get the red to go away?

I have my eyebrow, labrey, nose, tongue, and monroe piercings and next I want both my nipples pierced. Im just wondering if they are worst pain wise to pierce then the piercings I have or is it roughly the same amount of pain? Other words does piercing your nipples hurt horrible? ok , i have several tattoos and im currently having a half sleeve done. This latest part was done on the inside of my elbow. The thing is its been 2 days and the entire thing is covered in a layer of like white dead skin. it almost looks like its covered in white cream but its all broken skin. I've never had this go on before. im not sure if its the location or what. IS THIS NORMAL? ( Also this is entirely line work)

tattoos on areas around their shoulder blades?

I know getting a tattoo is for me, but sometimes it's hard to ignore what other people think, especially when the shoulder blade is a highly visible area for women. I would like to hear opinions on this.

Just wondering what the discomfort factor is pertaining to tattoos that covers the lower back. I have a friend who, after getting one done on the small of her back, commented that it really bothered her when it was being done in the center of her back, along her spine, as the nerves are more sensitive there, I guess? Anyway, just wondering. Thanks in advance for any info.

Can anyone with experience tell me what is the process when getting a tattoo on the shoulder blade for girls? And what is the aftercare, like you have to wear strapless bras(because the straps irritate the tattoo) and what about bathing etc.?

I'm wanting to get a tattoo and it's my first one. It's a picture that has alot of detail, so the artist told me it will probably take 4-5 hours to do (which seems really long as most people's only take an hour or so). It's on my shoulder/arm, and the person doing it called it a "half sleeve". Does this sound like to much to deal with for a first tatoo? I know it's what I want to get, and it has a lot of meaning to me, so I'm not getting something meaningless or "trendy", but I don't know how bad a tattoo will be, especially one that takes that long. Any advise from someone who has had a tattoo done like this would be greatly appreciated!

Im intrigued by the sacred heart symbol (generally a love heart with flames coming out the top), and would love to get it tattooed on my wrist/foot. I dont want it for religious reasons but worry that it may come across as that way? How would you view it?

I am looking for something I can put on my shoulder that symbolizes my 6 month old daughter. I like fantasy art, like fairies or mermaids. if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Her name is Iris, but I'm not really digging Iris flowers for tattoos, because they look so dull. They're much prettier as an actual plant sitting on my table.
