Tattoos - March 2007

I got my first tat about 4 days ago and it's a half sleeve, so the artist told me to use A&D for first few days and then use lotion (unsented). I have been doing this, but tonight when I was taking a shower I noticed there is some skin peeling off. I was wondering if this is normal, or if it's caused by excessive use of lotion/ointment (I've been putting the ointment on approximately every 2-3 hours). Any help is greatly appreciated, as I really love my tat but don't want to mess it up. Also, I haven't been peeling it off, but when I patted my arm dry and put the ointment on, some of the skin came off. Again, thanks for any help!!

Would it look weird if I got a tattoo of my lips on my lower back?

I have three tattoos, all of them are in places that I can hide if I want to and show off If I feel like it. My foot, my lower back and my back shoulder.
I want one more but I can't think of a place that would look good and be discreet at the same time. Does anyone have any suggestions. I also want to incorporate my two daughters names in this tattoo.

Ive always wanted one and now I found the one I really want (Its the design off of my Great Grandads First World War service medal) all over the top part of my left arm. Only thing is I feel I may regret getting it in 40 years time of whatever...so should I get one and then, If I grow to hate it just get it taken off or should I play it safe and just not get one?

I drew this up myself a little bit ago (ok I used Adobe Illustrator) and have yet to get it priced. About how much would you think? It will go on my lower back.. pretty decent sized. Not one of those teeny tiny things. You can find it at this URL.

it was in a good location

it was clean and licensed

it had quality tattoo artists

it had 4 big screen tvs all around the place

the tattoo artists are encoraged to smile and be polite whenever they deal with customers

they had peircings there too

you only have to book an appointment a day in advanced

there is a snack and pop machine in the lobby

do you think it would be sucsesful?

He almost has one of his calves covered but recently his leg will swell and hives will form about 2 mins. into the tattoo. Then they have to stop.

In May I'll be turning 18 and my boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend) won't yet be 16, so we decided to break up. I can't wait until he gets older and times will be better. I've tossed the idea of getting inked around for a couple years and now I'm positive that I want to do this. Anyways, I'm really interested in getting a tattoo of a heart on one of my palms. Will all tattoo artists agree to work on this area? After doing a little research I heard that it will fade in time but how much time? Because I'm a CNA so I'm constantly working with and washing my hands; I just want to know if that will make any difference. But my plan is to show my ex my tattooed hand and say, "Look baby I still got your heart and I'm carrying it with me everywhere until we can be together again." And when the heart fades, show him and say that I want him back or something like that. Maybe, "Look I don't have to carry just the thought of your love in my hands anymore; say that you'll take me back...........

I'm planning on getting my tattoo in about a week and I wanted an estimate about how much it would cost. It is going to be five baby turtles wrapped around my left breast near my heart. The turtles will be about 1 inch big each. And they will be colored.

i've always wanted a tattoo. i know i still have to wait a couple years, because i doubt my dad would let me get one in high school, but i really need some ideas. i would get something small in a place that is not too noticable (for example my mom has a smily face on the inside of her ankle). i just don't know what. i can look at a picture and say no, but i really haven't found anything i've fallen in love with. can people post links of ideas for me please. this would be most appreciated.

I just got a tattoo a week ago and I'm worried about the peeling on part of it. It's a shooting star on my foot and one of the smaller stars is raised off my foot a little and it seems like a large portion is peeling off. I've cleaned it exactly the same as the rest of the tattoo...but this part is peeling different? any comments? is it normal?

but when i woke up this morning the skin had fallen off, but every bit of the color from inside the star only was gone too. I mean, there is not one spot of color left in the star and it is very slightly indented. I asked a friend who has been around the tattoo business and she said it could either have been because i had a reaction to that color or ink of that star or it could have been because when i had the tattoo done that star was done twice because the first color of purple was not dark enough. Any ideas? Only the inside of that star was affected...not any of the surrounding area. rest healed normal?

I'm thinking of getting a tattoo, as a tribute to my dad, who died two years ago. And the design i'm thinking of doing, is i have a picture of my dad and i hugging, and i'm thinking of having that tattooed, with Dad and then under Dad, Missed much and Loved Eternally, and his birth and death dates under that. So what do you think of that design idea? I'm not going to do this now, as i'm underage, and i want to be sure that i really want this.
