Also, do you think it'd prevent me from getting a job in the journalism field as a reporter? Becuase I don't, but some of my friends do. I mean, it's not going to be massive... just the Alkaline Trio heart skull... Thanks for your thoughts!

it will hurt a little but not completely painful but i wanted to get the alkaline trio heart skull there too and then i thought about it a little and changed my mind. now all my tattoos are on my upper arms so that if i have an interview they wont be able to see it. not many employers who are interviewing you will know who alkaline trio is so when they see that skull they might look at you funny and give the job to someone else. so just think about that. its not so much WHERE you get the tattoo but what you get it of. and lets face it, their skull isnt so happy and pretty as to getting a flower or butterfly haha.

I have tattoos on my back, both ankles (inside and out) and on the inside of one of my wrists, which is close to the forearm. The wrist one 'hurt' the worst, but I think the pain sensation of getting a tattoo is closer to a cross between a burn, a sting and a bite. If it isn't a tattoo you can cover or hide then, depending on what market you are trying to be a reporter in, it can indeed affect your ability to get a job, sad to say. If you're trying to be a reporter for Rolling Stone, that's one thing, but if you're trying for a job at a daily newspaper, particularly one in a more conservative city, it would definitely affect how you were perceived.

I say go for it, but get something that can be covered with a long sleeve shirt. :)

I just got the inside of my forearm done a month ago, and just on the sides it hurt, it was a piece of cake. I actually rolled back on the chair I was sitting on and propped my chin up with the other hand and watched him do it. I think it hurts more the higher you go (inside bicep). Tattoos are more acceptable nowdays, I have seen programs on tv where there are lawyers that have full sleeves, they just wear long sleeve shirts. With more and more people getting tattoos, I personally don't think that it would make much difference if you had tattoos or not, it's based more on how well you do your job. I say get the tattoo! Good Luck! =]

Yup, I have one on the inside of my upper arm, and have seen those inside forearms ones done. Also it's your ability to handle pain.
Any visible tattooing might prevent you from advancing to the career of your choice especially if you deal with people in an environment that has questionable feelings about body adornment/modifications. Don't let that stop you just consider getting it somewhere that might be easier to cover.

The one on my upper arm is very easy to cover with a shirt, but I got it there cause it looks good. It would still hurt a bunch if you got it there. Good Luck.

Its not to bad, pain wise to get a tattoo on the inside of your forearm. All depends how big you want to go, it starts to hurt when you get to the inside of the wrist. Most reporters wear long sleeve shirts anyway.

They all hurt. I think the inside of the forarm is not that bad! I guess it is all relative, I thought my tramp stamp was the worse, some think it isnt that bad!
As far a the job. Most reporters wear long sleeve shirts. Wear a dark one when you interview, until you find out the companies feelings.

Good luck!

I have 2 on one arm and 1 on my other arm. I can not say it is painless because it is a tattoo but it didn't;t hurt that bad to where i was on the verge of tears. The one on my ankle hurt a hell of alot worse then the ones on my arms. Go for it. And as far as the job you can always wear long sleeves :) good luck

Inside of forearm, one of the
less painful places. People
are starting to understand
more about tattooing and
what tattoo's mean. But I'm
sad to say, when it comes
to getting a traditional job,
Keep your tat under raps.

Nah, the inner arm is pretty easy. The worst place is anywhere the bone is near the surface - wrists, back of the neck, anklebones, top of the foot, etc.
