I just need some help with this. I want to write a book called, "Junkie Mom", and it would be non-fiction. It is about my life as a teenager (i am currently 19 and a sophomore in college) and my struggle with an alcoholic and drug addicted mother in suburbia. I just dont know how to outline/organize my ideas. I feel like everything is scrambled together and i am trying to blurt out everything at once. I was thinking of doing it as diary, but i cant remember when everything happened. I could use some help.

I'm currently writing a 'chick-lit' book. I've had the idea (and the main character's name) planned out for a few years now. It's quite a unique name and, back in the day when I first started planning the book, I 'Googled' the name and couldn't find any matches.

However, a recent search has revealed that my 'unique' charactere's name is now the stage name of an English glam-goth performer with a pretty racy website (no joke.) I'm a bit disappointed but I still love the name and I feel the book wouldn't be the same without it.

My character is very far from being an English glam-goth performer so there's no way anyone would think she is somehow 'based' on her. Can I go ahead with my plan? Am I risking any sort of lawsuit?

Thanks.

Of all the characters that died in this book, I was surprised Malfoy wasn't one of them. If ANYONE deserved it, it was him. There were a LOT of deaths in the book : Hedwig, Mad Eye, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Bathilda Bagshot, Dobby, Colin Creevey, Voldemort, Crabbe, Bellatrix LeStrange. Draco should have been one of them.

Well, I am thinking of a book series to write and this is my idea so far:

Title: Poison
Description:Well, Poison is about 2 kids, a brother and a sister, who were trapped inside of a lab to try out a new invention by scientists. It uses blood/DNA from many animals, and mixes it in with something else's DNA and bloodstream to cause malicious effects...such as amazing senses, wings/ability to fly, incredibly smart, etc.
Something went wrong with their test, and it caused them to turn out...Non-average. That is what it was supposed to do, but they turned out with amazing muscles, quickness, flight, mind powers, and almost anything you can think of. The scientists love this and built more like them. The kids decided to break out of the lab, and they were-you guessed it- out-made. The lab made even more powerful things to steal the kids back, and the kids had to stay at the lab for 5 more years, behind bars, being tested and examined.(continued in details)

What do you think? Would that be a hindrance or a help? Contribute to confusion or clarity?

What genres do you suggest they break out, if any? (Classics, Teen, Romance, Horror, Mystery, Science Fiction, Harry Potter's own section or include with Sci-Fi & Fantasy, Children's, etc.)

This can include the Bible, fiction, non-fiction. The important thing for me is that you're able to share it with the others.

Harry Potter is so lame. It's supposed to be a CHILDREN'S BOOK, yet people are scheduling their weddings based on the release of Deathly Hallows.

If I have understood correctly, this is a system where you register a book on the internet (that you don't want any more) and then you abandon it somewhere and someone else finds it and registers the find on the same website. Is this right?

I was wondering if any of you could tell me if there are any age restrictions on writing a novel or short story and then go on to publish it?

If so, what are these restrictions and why?
