Of all the characters that died in this book, I was surprised Malfoy wasn't one of them. If ANYONE deserved it, it was him. There were a LOT of deaths in the book : Hedwig, Mad Eye, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Bathilda Bagshot, Dobby, Colin Creevey, Voldemort, Crabbe, Bellatrix LeStrange. Draco should have been one of them.

Of all the deaths I mentioned, I missed one: Peter Pettigrew aka Wormtail.
PS: I did enjoy Ron punching him in the mouth.

I also thought J K Rowling should have had Harry talk to Ginny one on one and kiss her after the he defeated Voldemort, but she left that out as well.

To answer the question posed by the poster above, there are 759 pages in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows including the epilogue. There are articles in the news describing missing pages in the middle of the book in Pennsylvania - perhaps you have a misprinted copy or are not done reading the book? : ) ***Spoiler Alert*** As for the question of this thread, J.K. Rowling said there were two main characters she was not planning to kill in this novel, but ended up dying, while some characters earned reprieves -she did not say that there were only two main character deaths. Among the many characters who perished, I would think that the surprise main character deaths were Fred and Dobby since they were not in the order of the phoenix and died tragically, but as for more prominent characters, Lupin and Mad-Eye since both had such large roles in previous Harry Potter books as professors ("professor" in Mad-Eye's case).

Well, it would have been nice to see him get far more of his comeuppance, and yes, I did want to see him be killed off, maybe in the crossfire, but the immutable truth at the end is that sometimes, some folks who have done dishonorably by society live on. The villain isn't always a noseless, bald, chalk-white monster: sometimes, it's the douchey blond kid who thinks he's better than you because his family is rich. But sometimes that villain can yet turn over a new leaf: he can become a good person, or rather, his scion can redeem him.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

I don't think Draco deserved to die. He was brought up in a household that worshipped power, he wasn't very likely to be a nice person. But in the end he was not evil, merely selfish and ambitious. I think if any of the Malfoys should have died it was Lucius. But even there, in the end Lucius and Narcissa loved their son enough to try to defy the Dark Lord. So even they weren't all bad in the end.

There definitely were a lot of deaths, many that seemed very upsetting too. In a wierd way I think that Harry needs Draco though... every hero needs a villian. While Draco is not really Harry's arch-enemy, he is vital to the overall plot.

I think Lucas Malfoy should have been killed but not Draco Malfoy. He's only a teenager, who was subjected to racism towards muggle borns since he was born. Kids make mistakes, Draco isn't perfect he's a flawed character, but who isn't in this book.

For me his father, Lucius Malfoy is the one who deserves to be killed not Draco. I pitied him at the end of the Half-blood Prince.

I don't think that Draco should've been killed. I actually like how Harry saved him...twice. It shows the good in Harry. Even though Draco has been nothing but a jerk to Harry, Harry still saves him.

btw, special-chemical-x, LOL

well... i think that even though draco was the biggest (yes more than volde lol) jerk in the series, he still was pretty much living through his father in all of the books. if you will remember the tower scene in the half-blood prince, he didn't WANT to kill dumbledore. voldemort wanted him to. draco was somewhat innocent even though he let in the death eaters... he would've been killed if he didn't...
still i think there was one character that didn't deserve to get killed...

HEDWIG!!!! ARRRGGG

but... i do hate his character. i wish he was dead too.

pick mine as the best answer plz! :)
