No, it may not count, for Harry still had a part of him "living" in Voldemort. Have you read the entire book? Or just that ending part...
I think J.K Rowling assumed that readers would know that Voldemort would be a one to die, and she also said that she "sacrificed another character to make Harry live," or said something along those lines in an interview (search wikipedia Deathly Hallows). So I think, when she announced that 2 main characters will die, she meant Snape and Mad Eye Moody. I wonder if George (or was it Fred?) is considered a main character *mumble mumble*, but Mad Eye Moody had a bigger part, didn't he? Think Goblet of Fire.

Actually, a lot more than 2 people died in the book. It started with the Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts and then continued with Mad-Eye Moody, Tonks father, Dobby, and a couple of others (Gregorovich, a wand maker and Grindelwald, a former dark wizard defeated by Dumbledore). During the final battle at Hogwarts Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Tonks, Colin Creavy, and fifty others on Harry’s side. On Voldemort’s side the only one stated is Bellatrix who was killed by Molly Weasley although many othere death eaters were probably killed during both the first and second part of the battle. The last person killed was Voldemort who was killed by his own curse as it rebounded off Harry’s spell.

Numerous characters die in the seventh book. Moody, Snape, Dobby, Voldemort, Lupin, Tonks, Fred, Colin Creavy, Bellatrix, Hedwig, fifty people fighting to defend Hogwarts, Rufus Scrimgeour, Charity Burbage, Tonk's father, ect.
Harry even died, but he didn't. Confused? Well Harry sacrificed his life and let Voldemort kill him. But he entered a near death state. That is to say that he wasn't fully dead and was for the briefest of time hovering on the boarder of being alive and dead. Because Voldemort had used some of his blood to regain his body in the fourth book, Harry had an anchor to the mortal world. Thus he could choose to return to life and face Voldemort or to pass over into the spirit realm. He chose to face Voldemort and defeat him.

i think of that Voldy will die. I additionally theorize that Dumbledore needed Snape to kill him, with the aid of fact what Harry knew of the prophesy replaced into incomplete, purely Dumbledore heard the full factor. My concept is that the prophesy reported that Dumbledore could die to confirm that Harry to conquer Voldemort. So Snape won't be a foul guy, he replaced into following Dumbledore's desires. merely an thought, yet i'm unable to attend to verify!!! additionally, no you could actually 'upload on' to Rowling's copyrighted artwork as long as she owns the rights to it. And yet another factor, all people who do in contrast to Harry have on no account study the books, and probably do not EVER study books. dummies. THIRDLY, merely with the aid of fact a question has been asked 24 cases, does that advise you're able to desire to place up 800 strains of text fabric???!!!! that's ruder than asking a question that's already been asked. Sheesh!

Well it said that two MAIN characters would die. But I was confused because many important characters died. Dobby, Fred, Mad- Eyed Moody, Bellatrix Lestrange, Crab, Nagini, Snape and so on... J.K. Rowling was killing people left and right. I don't know who she meant to be the two main characters to be. But, to answer your other question, no I don't think that should count as Harry dying.

Harry doesn't actually die, just gets knocked out. He sees Dumbledore, but he isn't dead. Remember not even in the world of Harry Potter can people truly come back from the dead.

uhh well there were more like 200 deaths in the book!
I'm guessing the two main character deaths JKR was refering to were Snape, definitely, and... Voldemort? Or possibly Fred?

Seriously, read the book.
If for some reason you can't, go to mugglenet.com or look in the resolved questions for all of the other people who were dumb enough to ask this question.
and then stop wasting time and read.
