Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. It's about a school shooting and is very well written. I highly recommend it.

last book i read was the last harry potter book, but before that it was 'alone on a wide, wide sea' by Micheal Morpurgo. he's a fantastic author (another of my favourite books is 'Private Peaceful', also written by him) and 'alone on a wide, wide sea' is a fantastic book because it explores the lives of orphans sent to Australia from Britain just after the second world war, to work on sheep farms and stuff. not many books have covered that, or even mentioned it. I'd definitely recommend it.
another fantastic book i read recently was 'a note of madness' by Tabitha Sazuma. It's about a highly talented music student struggling with manic deppression. that description makes it sound kind of like a badly written sentimental heap of junk, but it's not, it's fantastic. it's very well written and it's not a 'girly' book at all. it's the kind of really fascinating book that you just want to read until you've finished it, without stopping. when i read it, it took me around four hours and about 20 cups of tea, cos i just couldn't put it down. lol hope that helps. happy reading.

I've got two on the go - the Harry Potter (I've decided to be sensible this time and not read it all in one go; I'm reading a chapter or two each day).
My next recommendation is one I read a while ago, called "Last Letters Home". Oh my good word, it will reduce you to tears, even if you're the hardest whatnot. It's a collection of real letters from military personnel to their loved ones during WW2, and vice versa. Brilliant.

I usually have about 3 books going at the same time.
My e-book is by Lora Leigh, Boundless Hearts-Wicked Intent
My read-during-TV-commercials book is by Cheryl Holt-Absolute Pleasure.
My read-myself-to-sleep book is Diana Palmer-Most Wanted
My read in the restroom book is Cat Scratch Fever - Can't remember who wrote it.
Should finish Wicked Intent tonight and Most Wanted tomorrow afternoon. Not sure what's next.

last 2 days, I've been reading "The Possibility of an Island" by Michel Houellebecq and "The Body Artist" by Don DeLillo.
First one, "The Possibility of an Island", is bad .. really bad .. I read some of the earlier Houellebecq's books, and I liked them ("Platform"and "Atomised"), but this time he just went too far, became superficial and sad.
Now, the other book, "The Body Artist" is wonderful. It's not my genre, but it got my attention, I have only a few pages to finish it (it's a very short book), and I only wish it was a bit longer.

I'm currently in the midst of reading The Old Curiosity Shop by Dickens.. if you don't like Dickens you won't like the book... plus it's off to a very slow start. Hopefully it'll pick up towards the middle.

Harry Potter, but now I'm reading Wizard and Glass, from The Dark Tower Series. It's taking me a while to get through, it's kind of boring right now.
