James, Lupin, Sirius and Peter found all the secret tunnels, created the Maurader's map, and became unregistered animagi. Snape pretty much wrote his own potions book and invented his own curses. And Voldemort was created horcruxes.

Harry can summon a Patronus. What else can this younger generation do?

Stephen King
The best horror writer in the world.
I want to write his typa stuff but I'm 13 and I dont want people to think I'm disturbed.
Should I go with my dream to scare people or will people think I'm crazy/psycho/morbidly obsessed.

Why does Dirk Gently not get the respect he deserves? There is so much focus on H2G2 and little to none on DG. I will admit there is an option on a new TV series and supposedly some fan radio show. But he deserves so much more.

I'm trying to find out if my book is worth anything or not. The title is Anne of Green Gables and I see two copyrights. one from 1908, by L.C. page & company-when the book came out- and one from 1935, by Lucy M. MacDonald. There's no isbn or publication date or dust jacket. it was printed in the US...xP I don't know much about collecting books so I'd appreciate any information on collecting books.

I want to know if anyone actually finished this book?.. I read House of Leaves and loved it, but this one is just.. annoying. I've never had a book actually make me so dizzy I felt sick. It's not the way it's printed.. the entire "story" is bordering on the nonsensical.. So, trying to see if anyone else felt different.

For instance, if you want to write a how-to guide or a book of advice on a certain activity, but need to use tips from various other people, how does that work?

Do you pay each person or have them sign something saying they give this info to you to use?

Thanks for any advice on this process : )

I personally hate the movies, the barely even follow the plot of the books and leave out half the book! Ron and harry are supposed to be really skinny and them and hermione are supposed to be outcasts. Hermione is supposed to be not that pretty and have buckteeth until the yule ball and should have poofy and frizzy hair. I just think the movies could have been done better, what is your opinion?

I read a lot, but I've never read a literature book. I'm Mexican, and I teach Spanish to Americans for a living.
I'm fluent in 6 languages; I'm addicted to language books. I have my room full of grammar-exercise books in Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, English, French, Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and Nahuatl (Aztec.)
I've had such a passion for grammar; I wrote and got 2 books locally published to learn Spanish.
I studied business, not English. But because I opened my own language school and got books published, I know many people who studied English or Literature as their major. They all kinda snob me because I don't know anything about the stupid books they are reading.
But I read A LOT, I just hate fiction. I love to read biography books of people who got rich, business books, how-to-do books, and world-history books. I think I read just as much as those people.

Just because I've never read any of the classics, or because I hate literature.

Does that make me a non-reader?

pick ur best last sentance!
1.Harry smiled down at his week-old daughter; she had her mother's red hair, but her father's green eyes and even a faint birthmark that looked exactly like his famous lightning-bolt scar. -xothebestox
2.The portrait of the famous Harry Potter hung in the entrance hall of Hogwarts (with a view of the Quidditch pitch, so that he could watch year after year of Gryffindor championships) and sometimes the bravest students who snuck out onto the grounds for a night of adventure, would hear words of advice from the man who was made famous by his lightning-bolt scar.
-hp_resource
3.Harry looked at himself in the mirror and, smiling, laid down his eyes on the spot of his forehead where there had once been a scar. -alex
