Keeping with Go Ask Alice, you need to read Crank by Ellen Hopkins. It's about a teenager on meth and how that affects her. It's in verse form, which for a loose comparison, is kind of like poetry. It's a very unique writing form. If you like Crank, read all of her books; they're wonderful. Smack by Melvin Burgess is good, but not exceptional, and it's about teens on heroin in the UK. I've only read two of the books you mentioned, but if you like anything about vampires you have to read Twilight by Stehenie Meyer. Hope some of this helps!

If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays - I recommend these two -
1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin
2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker
These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean Government.
Fiction?
Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.
The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.

My favorite book is A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. It's a story of a girl growing up in Brooklyn back in the early 1900s and how she deals with growing up, an alcoholic dad, and growing up in neighborhoods that are for poor people. I hope you read it and enjoy. I know I did, I've read it like 4 or 5 times. It's GREAT!!!!!!!!

The "Left Behind" books are really good, even if you are not a religious person. The story is really interesting and they are well written.
Also, Elizabeth Peters writes a bunch of books about "Amelia Peabody" they have humor, romance, murder, history, etc.

ooo here are the top of the best creepy books - house by frank peretti and ded tekker, showdown by ted dekker, and shadows of legion by vernon buford
house - The book covers the events that take place one night in a Victorian inn located in rural Alabama, where two couples and the owners, a family of three, find themselves locked inside by a homicidal maniac, who claims that he has killed God and threatens to murder them all, unless they can produce the dead body of one of their own by dawn. Things are further complicated when they enter the basement and are trapped in a maze of shifting rooms, black smoke, and betrayal. During the night they all discover the evils that lurk deep inside each of them and how it has affected them their whole lives.
