This is probably the stupidest question on here, but whatever...

Every book report/assignment I've EVER had to do, I've lied my way through...but this next school year, looking at the reading requirements, I don't think I'll be able to pull it off this year. I absolutely hate reading, and I can never find a book that will keep my interest for more than twenty minutes or so. If I want to pass English this year...I'm going to have to get into reading.

SO...all you bookworms out there...
How do you just "get lost in a book"?
What makes reading enjoyable/How is it enjoyable?
How do you get anything out of what you read? (When I read...I'm not sure why, but I'm not able to retain ANYTHING from the book, and I always find myself lost...part of the reason I hate reading)

I have experience in illustration, film, animation and sculpting (polymer clay). After getting my qualification to teach at TAFE or any other registered training organisation, I'm still finding it difficult to find an opening to teach a visual arts course (with a focus on illustration and sculpture).

For the time being, there is a lack of interest in attending such a course. My question; do you believe that selling the course in DVD format would be more popular, meaning that people could 'attend' the course in their own time, without the obligation of turning up at a set venue? With my experience in film, the DVDs would be informative and of good quality.

If you do believe that would be more popular, what would be a good way to sell these DVDs? Would you prefer to pick them up at an art & craft store, buy through Ebay, or buy through my personal website?

*Ok please please please keep in mind that im 13 years old, and its my #1 dream in life to be a well known author, i understand that writing a story takes a long time and all, and ive been writing this for almost 10 months and im not even on chapter 3 yet. and another thing, PERSIPHONE_HELLIC, IF YOURE THINKING OF ANSWERING, DONT EVEN BECAUSE I DONT WANT ALL THIS **** FROM YOU ABOUT HAVING TO RESEARCH EVERYTHING. THIS IS MY STORY, ILL DO WHAT I WANT. anyways, please just give me an honest opinion. this is just the basic outline of the plot. its a modern days story, chara./settings are done.. So if you can please just tell me what you think of my plot and changes. Oh and i wanted to have one of thoes "wow that did not just happen" ending. all these stories today have endings where the main character lives and kills the bad guy, or they wake up and its a dream. i want to be differnt lol: well here it is....:

Its true and its done through the power of thought. How many here have seen "The Secret" movie?, well I have been practising the power of positive thought well before this ever came out and no they are not lying, its all true. If you think negative thoughts all the time then don't expect much out of life.
Start saying out aloud what you really want in life and out aloud, plus think it then watch what happens. The bigger your want is, the longer it will take to manifest.

Basically I love reading but I love reading Anorexic type books. Two of my friends have eating disorders they are really great friends so lay off. I have already read The luckiest girl in the world and you remind me of you. I would like to read more any suggestions? But no suicidal books or cutting. It could be a side topic. Years ago, I had a New Age book. It talked about the problem of the Panther. You want to reach a destination, there is a road you are to take. This road is in the hunting territory of a panther. There is a limited set of actions possible. I am not asking what are those actions. I ask if you know the title of the book, or the author. I ask the philosophy section because somebody of this interest is more likely to remember the book. This book had no plot, no main subject. The author jumped from one subject to the next. .
