NO THOUGHT ABOUT ANYTHING WOULD BE MADE WITHOUT
THE UNIVERSALS WITH WHICH THE THOUGHTS ABOUT ONE ARE MADE.

Is this true?

I'm cast for the roll of Ida in SEE HOW THEY RUN. I basically know how a cockney accent goes, but I really want to work on mine so I can be convincing, and also help my friend who is cast as the same part. If anyone knows any websites or anything that may help with developing my accent, it would be much appreciated.

I'm looking for cheesy looking instructional videos for acting. Does anyone know of any low budget videos I can buy or get my hands on? I'd especially appreciate it if these videos had a section about versatility or range.

PAINTING, n. The art of protecting flat surfaces from the weather and exposing them to the critic.

Formerly, painting and sculpture were combined in the same work: the ancients painted their statues. The only present alliance between the two arts is that the modern painter chisels his patrons.

POLITICIAN, n. An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.

Splendidly,Shakespeare's heroes,
Shakespeares heroines,once the spotlight's on,
enact every night, with such grace, there verbose deaths
Then great plush curtains, then smilind ressurection
to applause - and never there good looks gone.

The last recorded words too
of real kings, real queens, all the famous dead
are but pithy pretences,quotable fictions
composed by anonymous men decades later,
never with ready notebooks at the bed.

Most do not know who they are
when they die or where they are, country or tow,
nor wich hand on there brow. Some clapped-out actor may
imagine distant clapping, bow, but no real queen
will sigh,'Give me my robe, put on my crown

Death scenes not life-enhancin,
death scenes not beautiful nor with reading;
yet bravo Sydney CArton, bravo Duc De Chavost
who,euphoric by the guillotine,turned down
the corner of the page he was readin.

And how would i wish to go?
Not as in opera - that would offend -
nor liek a blue-eyed cowboy shot and short of words
but finger-tapping still our private morse,'...love you,'
before the last flowers and flies descend.

I'm looking for a comprehensive history of Britain, covering ancient times through to today. I don't seek a quick/easy read; I want a thorough book at a university-student level, but it should (hopefully) provide enough of the background and basics to be understood by an American such as I who is largely unschooled in British history. A school textbook would be fine, probably appropriate in fact.

If you could include a link to where I might purchase such a book along with your recommendation, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I have decided to start reading more. I am really into History, military, politics, and problems facing the world. I would like any books I read to really enhance my knowledge. I want books like "Good Will Hunting" style, you know, books that just make you smart, and more aware.

Please leave brief descriptions of books you recommend.
