We know we are here only because of awareness. Awareness is life and hence it can not be the purpose of life. However, we are here for attaining greater awareness..... in a way, therefore, you are right when you say 'gain' awareness if you meant to say "graduate our awareness to a higher level than the normal level provided by life".

I agree that we are here to gain awareness because i noticed myself when i grow up, i grow more confused because im trying to be aware of whats around us and by doing that, youre not so sure of yourself that is it supposed to be this way or the other way around and do it in the hard way to find it out.

If were are here for a reason, that implies that we were created by a Creator/God. If that is true, then I think we are here to gain awareness of our Creator.

I do not know if that is the designed purpose. However, a resounding YES! that it is the only thing what one should strive for.

Why do you assume we are here for some reason? This seems to me exceedingly unlikely, a result of applying our very limited human experience on to the Universe.
