I finished the last HP book on Sunday and I have no other books to read now. I really love fantasy books, it takes me away from the stress of school and a normal life. I loved His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman (the first of his trillogy is being made into the movie The Golden Compass) and was wondering if anyone knows of other similar books?

My Big Brother Is a Hero

There have been many wars
I’ve grew up hearing from those around me
My Great Grandfather was a hero he fought in the civil war
My Grandfather was a hero he fought in the world war
Then I say with pride
My big brother is a hero he fought in Vietnam
Then all would say OH that was not a war

I looked it up in the dictionary and there it is in black and white
“War: struggle between opposing forces”
From what I saw on the news it looked like war to me
I would tell people that my Brother is a hero, he did not run and hide
He did his duty as a soldier
Then they would whisper “But he is in Vietnam”

I can remember when I was about five
Watching Bob Hope’s special on TV
Excited by every glimpse of our soldiers on TV
Everyone a hero
Then I saw my Brother in the crowed so very far away
And in my child’s mind I knew that this meant my Brother and his friends
Must be heroes
Because why else would Bob Hope put on a show

Then the time came for my Big Brothers home coming
I was so proud
But I was told not to pester him because he fought in Vietnam
I wanted so much to hear the “War Stories”
As I had heard from my older kin
But I was told this one is different he fought in Vietnam
So I did not ask, I kept quiet, I tried not to pester him

Now nearly 30 years has came and gone
Here I set at my Big Brother’s side
Looking at pictures from when he fought in Vietnam
I ask questions
And he answers them
I have one thing left to say
“My Big Brother Is a Hero, He Fought in Vietnam!”

Where is my mummy?
The water is growing higher.
Higher and higher it doesn’t stop.
Water is gushing everywhere and people are screaming.
Mummy I yell but it’s too late
Fighting for my life, I kick and scream
Like the people before me I start to sink lower and lower.
I can’t breath
Where is my mummy?

Help please needed how to change a NEF file into a jpeg?
I have shot some photos as NEF files with my nikon D200..... I need to change them into Jpegs either on the camera or within photoshop, please help me and tell me how this is done.

I suspect the period of devolution may have begun around 50-100 years ago...... no Newtons, no Einsteins are being born any more!! The scientists, the philosophers, the artists, the statesmen.... pick any area of excellence and we find them all much below the extraordinary level similar people had attained around 100 years back or before.

I love the Harry Potter series. I have seen all the Harry Potter movies, and read 6/7 of the books, and I thought it might be cool to be able to act in one of the next upcoming movies. I do have previous acting experience (if you count five years working in a haunted house in Denver, and doing a small short film directed by my friend lol), and if anyone could tell me how that would be great. It doesn't matter if I was not a major role, or even an extra. I think it would just be a fun experience being on set and in that atmosphere. If anyone could tell me how I'd really appreciate it. Ok..any theories who's daughter that is that Teddy is "Snogging"? It's clearly a Weasley girl, but it's not made clear who's. Though, if I had to take a guess....I'm thinking Bill and Fleur are Victoire's parents...French-ish name, plus Bill and Fleur are the only ones reasonably far enough into a relationship to have had a child that's a reasonable age for Teddy. If anyone else has a theory though....shoot
