heres one of my poems, please be honest.[im unpublished]

Face the day.
Without you its so much harder.
You make things right and life fun.
Listening to the sound of your voice makes my heart melt.
Thinking about you makes me smile ear to ear.
I hope you have the same problem.
And i hope you don't take that offensivley.
Hope that its just as hard for me to be gone.
Face the Day.

Face the Day.
I know i can.
But with you here, i'd never want the day to end.
Your everything i've ever wanted.
I hope im the same for you.
I dream every night of what is meant to be.
I close my eyes during the day and see you and me.
Just you relize im not ready to
Face the Day.

Hi, I'm from Sydney and I've just turned 13. I'm really interested in the acting field but I have exactly no idea how to get into this business. I do drama at school but apart from that, I'm getting nowhere. And how do others discover you? How do you know that you have the talent?

Do you believe in good and bad?
If so, do you believe in absolute moral values?
If so, do you believe in absolute good?
If so, do you believe in absolute truth?
If so, do you believe in an absolute being?
Is it ever okay to slam a baby against the wall?

Answer as many as you like, but PLEASE give a reason for why you do or don't believe in each one.
Yes, there is a purpose for each question. And No, I'm not slaming babies against the wall. Its hypothetical.

In many works of literature, minor characters serve as instruments in a plot, foils to the major characters, etc. Can anyone name a few minor characters that contribute greatly to the overall work?

I am searching for something, and I wanted your (the yahoo world's?) take on it. Help me define what intimacy is; and not just a physical level. I am looking for emotional, spiritual and metaphysical occurrences of intimacy.

Hollywood has taken a liking to making movies out of books. If a book does well, Hollywood will probably go after it--they are running out of ideas. But is it a very good idea?

Look at Eragon. That was the worst book-to-movie experience of my life. Whatever y'all think, I despised it.

Harry Potter--not too bad, but they definitely have room for improvement. They just don't have the art of capturing the spirit of the book while keeping it at a reasonable length, mastered.

One of the best adaptations I've seen is Pride and Prejudice--the new one. I've read the book twice, and I've seen the movie like eighty times. The spirit, power and romance of the book was so wonderfully captured in the movie, I watch it whenever I can. Another good one is Count of Monte Cristo

So what do you think? Is Hollywood losing its touch?

I really don't mean to be a pest, but I just need reasurance.
LIFE SUCKS!!! IT IS HORRIBLE!!! Honestly, I feel as though pople ALL around me are like becoming friends, and hooking up and actually enjoying life. I try to focus on the little things, but nothing good comes to mind. I have few friends, and that is my fault. I am 14, entering high school, and am GAY. Yeps, I am an only child and homosexual... Golly gee, isn't this dandy? T.T
SO tell me, does life get better? Because furthurmore, I can't play any sports. AT ALL. So tell me, exactly when does life get better? Because I would like to see
if it's worth waiting for.

Little lady of my heart !
Just a little longer,
Love me: we will pass and part,
Ere this love grow stronger.

I have loved thee, Child! too well,
To do aught but leave thee :
Nay! my lips should never tell
Any tale, to grieve thee.
Little lady of my heart !
Just a little longer,
I may love thee: we will part,
Ere my love grow stronger.

Soon thou leavest fairy-land;
Darker grow thy tresses;
Soon no more of hand in hand;
Soon no more caresses !

Little lady of my heart !
Just a little longer,
Be a child: then, we will part,
Ere this love grow stronger.

GUN HISTORY

Whether you agree or not, it's an interesting lesson in history.

Something to think about...

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
------------------------------
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million 'educated' people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
-----------------------------

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
------------------------------
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note, that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.

You won't see this data on the American evening news or hear our president, governors or other politicians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note my fellow Americans.....before it's too late!

The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.
With guns, we are 'citizens'. Without them, we are 'subjects'

i am starting to play euphonium (its awesome!!), i switched from bass clarinet last year. its coming close to band camp, so i wanted to know of a good mouthpiece to help me in the high range, im playing on a bach 1 1/2 g, its a little tough to reach those high notes, though for marching we play baritones, and its a different size shank, i use a 7c, which isnt that hard to play on for me, but i need help on finding a good euphonium mouthpiece because this one is kinda tough.
