Do you believe in good and bad?
If so, do you believe in absolute moral values?
If so, do you believe in absolute good?
If so, do you believe in absolute truth?
If so, do you believe in an absolute being?
Is it ever okay to slam a baby against the wall?
Answer as many as you like, but PLEASE give a reason for why you do or don't believe in each one.
Yes, there is a purpose for each question. And No, I'm not slaming babies against the wall. Its hypothetical.

Nottrina,
You have an interesting reply. Unfortunately, it seems you've made a common error. I'm glad you agree that babies do not need to be thrown against walls or in other ways mistreated, but with your statement you claimed an absolute moral value. And the difficulty with absolutes is that when you claim one, you must claim them all.

When you say it is absolutely wrong, you are claiming an absolute good. Everything has to balance. An absolute moral value implies an absolute moral value maker. In other words, an absolute being. We as humans cannot be absolutely good, we sometimes do the wrong thing accidentally, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and no.
The first four because I think there is a God who created the universe in that way.
I think that inside of us is the desire to know our Creator and to have a fellowship with Him and so I seek Him. Logically I can't seek my Creator unless I hold it as true, i.e. believe, that He exists.

Yes I believe in good and bad..
as truely as i believe in yin and yang: there must be a balance for everything.
Hmm.. I dont believe that anything is absolute.
You read about things like absolute good and absolute truth in books, and you watch it in movies... but you dont see it at all in real life.. [well i never have, anyway]
It just seems too surreal..
Oh.. and maybe if the baby were a demon baby, and slamming it against the wall to kill it was the only way to save everyone from a century of "absolute" hell on earth....
then and only then its okay to do it.
can i ask you a question?
what was the reason for asking your last question..???

Yes there is bad as well as good for life balance everything.
It would be great if we all had absolute morale values, but not human. we all live by our emotions.
Absolute good, if we were perfect, yes.
90% absolute truth, yes, I leave a 10% not,
because certain truth are more armful and painful for nothing.
Yes we are all absolute beings that is why we are not perfact.
It is never okay and there is not even one good reason to harm
a baby or any living creature.
I believe that there is more good then bad but we have to at all time concider the humain facter.

both,be case if you look around the world or our own home town some people are trying to make the world a better place while others are happy to destroy and cause pain.
yes i believe in moral values because i use them as a general guide line to living my life, but i believe some people take them to the extreme when they want people to see everything as black and white rather a different colour
I believe in good because there are alot of good people around, but mot absolute truth because nobody is perfect
No to is not right to throw a baby against the wall because everybody has the right to life and to be treated with respect and care

The good and Bad/evil that you see don't even exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.
Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.
To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.
Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.
This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.
Love and blessings
