Being Queen for a very long time and giving her name to an era of British History when the country ruled a large part of the world. Becoming Empress of India. Having a large number of children who married into most of the royal families of Europe. But really, in her own right, she didn't do anything in her own right which would have made her famous had she not been the monarch.

Not being amused.

Seriously, she's the longest reigning British monarch ever. She was queen (and empress) at the height of the British Empire. She made concessions that allowed the monarchy to survive in Britain while it was being torn down in other countries. And there's something fascinating about a woman willing to remain in mourning for a husband for 40 years.
