I say NO... You need to let people have time to read it. Most of us aren't speed readers. I want to enjoy the book. I find it absolutely disrespectful to ask questions here and spoil the book for others. Any other opinions?

If you are robbed and the person is punished, you were still robbed. Punishing them doesn't change the facts.

If you are mugged and the person is punished, you were still mugged. Punish them doesn't change the facts.

If you are raped and the person is punished, you were still raped. Punishing them doesn't change the facts.

If a love one is murdered and the person is punished, you have still lost your loved one. Punishing them doesn't change the facts.

How do you justify or rationalize punishment?

I was convinced he was somehow compromised, maybe Imperio-d by death eaters or something, because he was really acting like a jerk for the first half. But then it turned out that he just genuinely wanted to run out on his wife and unborn child, to run away from his problems. Was anyone else really bothered by that? Even though he eneded going back, he needed a 17 year old boy to talk some sense into him!

I am writing a story about a man who has been sent to prison. He comes back to his hometown after nineteen years, and is a changed person, but no one is willing to believe that he could have changed. The woman that he once loved hates him, and, to make matters more complicated, it turns out that when he was arrested, she was pregnant with his daughter.

Meanwhile, an ancient force more powerful than death (called the Pwdre Ser, a Welsh phrase meaning 'rot from the stars') lays it's plans against humanity. It destroys the power grid, and disables most low flying satellites. A lot of airplanes are shut down, too, and fall to the Earth. It turns the dead into zombies, and soon has an army of several million, against which the nations of the Earth have no defense (almost all military satellites are shut down).

Most of the book is about the main character trying to protect his daughter, who has a powerful connection to the Pwdre Ser itself, and is the only person who can kill it.
