I am writing a story about a man who has been sent to prison. He comes back to his hometown after nineteen years, and is a changed person, but no one is willing to believe that he could have changed. The woman that he once loved hates him, and, to make matters more complicated, it turns out that when he was arrested, she was pregnant with his daughter.
Meanwhile, an ancient force more powerful than death (called the Pwdre Ser, a Welsh phrase meaning 'rot from the stars') lays it's plans against humanity. It destroys the power grid, and disables most low flying satellites. A lot of airplanes are shut down, too, and fall to the Earth. It turns the dead into zombies, and soon has an army of several million, against which the nations of the Earth have no defense (almost all military satellites are shut down).
Most of the book is about the main character trying to protect his daughter, who has a powerful connection to the Pwdre Ser itself, and is the only person who can kill it.

I don't want to give away too much of the plot on the internet. I hope that you can understand why.
