As you have probably heard, it could be argued that none of Shakespeare's plays provide evidence that he existed... almost all of them are at least collaborative works, and there is some suggestion that he took no part in the authorship of some of them at all.

There are other documents however. His baptisimal record exists and is dated April 26, 1564 (which leads to common guesses that his birthday was a few days before that). This document also tells us his father was John Shakespeare who was actually a prominent official in the town of Stratford, and thus provides us with a number of leads to confirm much about his family.

Another certificate indicates that 18-year old William Shakespeare married 26-year old Anne Hathaway (and pregnant) on November 18, 1582. This also occurred in the city of Stratford, and there is also the baptism record for Shakespeare's children.

Poems started circulating with his name on them starting April 18, 1593. We know this because of records from the people who would print and circulate them. It could be argued, I suppose, that we don't KNOW he wrote those. Maybe it's a pseudonym or something... still, it would be an odd pseudonym to use.

In 1596, William Shakespeare applied for a coat of arms from the College of Heralds. In 1599 he asked for them to modify the one he had received. The College of Heralds retains records of these transactions.

In 1601 Shakespeare's name turns up in coart records, both as a purchaser of land and in disputes with his landlord.

And basically these peripheral documents just go on and on. I put some links below if you interested in going through an exhaustive list of them...
