I went to Barbizon back in the late 80’s at age 14. Within months I realized that they we were being taken. While Barbizon did provide me with the knowledge about the modeling industry, television commercials and how to lip-sync to a music video. They failed to tell the truth to me about my future in modeling. I was petite in stature and still is. What model do you see walking a run way at 5’2? That’s how they sell the “self-improvement” classes. While I did learn a few things like how to get out of a car, sit, walk…blah…blah…blah. I felt that my mother's money was wasted. If you’re passionate about acting then take acting classes. If modeling is your true calling then use that $2000 towards getting a contact sheet of yourself done. Make sure the photographer is legit has experience in creating quality contact sheets. Be sure your parents are present at the photo shoot at all times observing the photos being taken. Get the names and address off the Internet of various modeling agencies locally, in NYC and LA then mail your cards to them. Local department stores usually have fashion shows for your age group. It’s a good way to get started have your parent contact the stores creative department. Best Wishes!

There are MANY ways to become an actor, and most are not expensive!
Look at your local community theater, or community college for an acting class.
Audition for your school play, church play, or local independent film.
Also at 14 you don't want to spend a lot of money on head shots, teen agers physically change so much over the next few years, wait to get your head shots when your 17 or 18, most auditions your going to go on won't care!
I feel you can get the same, or better experience for a whole lot less money going the way I am suggesting!
Good luck!

No. I know that sounds disappointing, but if you look around on the Theater & Acting thread or other sites, you should find one statement over and over again:
An agent or company will work for YOU! They will take a percentage of your pay when you get a job, but you should NEVER have to pay them!
If you're only 14 the best thing to do is start getting involved in your local productions - high school, community theater, etc. There may even be a community theater that works with young adults. The best way to learn and get better is to actually do it - and have the opportunity to work with other talented kids.
Good Luck!

Only if you don't mind giving them $2,000. They are NOT a modeling agency. you will not learn anything at Barbizon. All they want is your $2,000.
The modeling industry is ONLY located in New York City.
If you want to act or model you MUST live in NYC.

NO! It's not worth it. There are better ways to become an actress than paying a huge amount of money for an audition.
No reputable place will charge you to audition.

You would be better off using that $2000 for college.
