Well if peaceful means were being successful they would tend to keep being peaceful and not switch over to militancy. (The Civil Rights factor)

Those assassinations lead to riots. To explain it I looked up militancy, and no joke - Black Power and Black Panthers were in the dictionary under militancy. If you run into strong racial discrimination you are likely to eventually apply your own pressure back.

I would say the second option is false. Ironically, the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 led to black militancy. Why? The legislation was passed which was supposed to be a break through in the Civil Rights Movement, but it wasn't enforced as strictly or as quickly as the Movement would have liked, so many people turned towards militancy.

I would say that the 3rd option did not contribute to black militantcy.
