Predicting the apacolypse has been going on since Nero was throwing Christians to the lions, every turn of the Century, every end of the millenia, the 7th Day Adventists had their day in 1912, the Jim Jones cult and wacko in Waco both had their days, every passing of Haley's comet, eclipse of the sun and other end-of earth prophesies that i'm sure i missed. One thing you can be sure of, the arsenals of the US and Russia can obliterate a million Hiroshimas.....
It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.

If the world was going to end soon, then you'd have a point. But who says it is? The religious end-timer's? They've been claiming that for millenia. ("The world is going to pot, so that must mean that the End is Near.") On the left, some of the more scientifically-illiterate members of the environmental religion also claim that the End is Near, usually after viewing some fantasy movie like Day After Tomorrow or an error-ridden propaganda piece like Gore's film. Either way, none of these people has a rational leg to stand on.
So enjoy life, and go ahead and have kids. I guarantee you the world will still be around when you become a grandparent.

How do you know the world is going to end soon? There have been people predicting the end of the world for quite along time and we are still around. I wouldn't worry if the world is going to end tomorrow, because knowbody really knows if it will or when. Just live your life the best that you can, love people the best that you can and if the world ends hopefully we will go to a better place.

Not a wise way to think. You cannot live your life on contingency. "Sufficient for today is the evil thereof." Tomorrow will take care of itself.
If you're thinking of Biblical prophecy, you have been misled. The Biblical apocalypse was an allegory for the (at that time foreseeable) end of the Roman occupation of the Near East. It has nothing to do with our times or our future.
Relax. The end is far away. At least several generations.

The physical, so called, world will not end soon. However, the world as many have known it consciousness wise may very well be altered for the better ( could it be any worse?). That's the theory, anyway, by those who feel that many who are "capable" will have "moved up" a bit to "higher levels" by virtue of certain "dimensional shifts".
One can only hope. Rest assured, those who need "stability"--that the IQ and consciousness levels of your president will not be affected :)))

I doubt the "End of the world" will happen soon. It's unlikely that a meteorite will hit the earth in anyone currently on the earths lifetime. The 2012 stuff is a bunch of mumbo-jumbo.Don't let that stop you from being successful.

we can't ever trust that the world is going to end soon, like within years from now. it will come when it comes. go ahead and have kids, they might grow up and have kids and grandkids and great great great great grandkids. who knows? it will be obvious when the world is going to end and it's not yet, is it? so why worry? we have to all try and make the best of the time we've been given here.

A touch of the Doomsday syndrome. What do you propose we do, sit at home staring out the window waiting for it all to end? Life comes at you one day at a time - live each and every one of them to the fullest and if the end comes in your lifetime, at least you'll go out with a smile on your face.

If you're living your life in fear of the end of the world, then your world has ended already.
Take advantage of the one in which we now live. You'll sleep better at night if you just let God worry about the world; He's big enough for the task. You're not.
